What's Up With Nebraska?

I don't recall the last time it was this warm out this far into December

 

Uh last year? It just seems like a really long time ago... because 2020

 

good morning Cornhusker nation, one more nice day of December weather before the cold, rain and snow cometh this weekend

 

Hebron has the world's largest porch swing; I've got a good friend who grew up in Hebron, so that's how I know about the porch swing (She moved to PA in 2010 because she was bored)...

 

Also, Nebraska is really sparsely populated relative to Oregon, and they seem to prefer American trucks; The aforementioned friend's parents still live in Hebron, and her mom drives a 2009 Silverado 1500 Z71...

 

next time I go near Hebron i am going to check out that porch swing!

Have you ever been to Hebron? Also, Hebron is so small that they don't even have a DMV; There's a tiny office in the Thayer County courthouse that's only open a few days a week, and that's where you go for all services relating to driver's licenses...

Hebron used to have Ford dealer, but it went out of business years ago; Now there's no car dealers as far as I know, and the closest ones are in Lincoln.

 

My friend told me they used tractors instead of cars for Uber...

 

At least outside of major metropolitan areas like Omaha...

 

yes, i have been by it quite a few times on hwy 136 or 81 but always was headed elsewhere and never stopped there

 

on Husker football game days (when they start letting spectators back in) the full stadium is the 3rd largest 'city' in the whole state lol

 

Two things I do love about the Midwest are cheap real estate and nonexistent car inspections!

big game in Lincoln today against that Minnesota

 

At 4:15 this morning I push shoveled about 1.5" of slushy snow from the drive before leaving for work. Shortest amount of overtime ever, hardly made it worth going in but they appreciate volunteer. Roads were a little sketchy in a couple places on way in but mostly cleared on way home at 7:30. S.E. Nebraska near Nebraska City, Auburn
