No build slots up my way either. The boat fiasco pushed everything back.

The guys who really took a kick in the butt were the ones who took factory delivery, vacationed in Europe and then had the car shipped to the states. At that point, they owned it, not Porsche. Imagine making that call to your insurance company...

It’s a 2018, so a 991.2. I thought about the 992 GT3, but I have had 2 other 991s (2012 Carrera S and 2019 Carrera GTS) and really liked them. Also, the new ones were hard to come by a had $$$ ADMs. So, I decided to go with a used one. I like it for the same reasons I like the ‘23 Tacoma I picked up a few weeks ago. It has an old school feel with analog gauges, simple interior, manual trans, and just the basic tech I need for CarPlay. Only negative was I had to sell my ‘87 in order to afford it.

hopefully it’s comprehensive coverage, but yeah…it would suck to have anticipate delivery then have shut happen. On second thought, if I took a Euro delivery, vacationed with my new Porsche there, and insurance paid me out on it…if prolly be fine. Time to upgrade :p

As a 991 guy I agree on the gauges...not a fan of the 992 display...though I do very much like the retro look of the Sport Classic tach with the green

Edit: I'm guessing several of us on this thread are on Rennlist...world's colliding

I signed up years ago, but never go on there. Too much of an effort (at least for me) to sort thru the BS and high and mighty personalities.

I think I had mine early in life.
    At 17 I bought a 1979 Trans Am
The previous owner had all the body work complete. But the the rest of the car needed restored.

I had no other vehicle at the time.
That was a bad idea. I spent all my money and every weekend for almost 2 years working on that car.

I vowed never to have another project car. I lied to myself. I turned right around and bought a 1st Gen. It didn’t need anything. And yet, I spent all my money on it…….again.

Sport Classic is a good looking car. Probably really hard to get one. I was on Rennlist more when I had my air cooled one since there was always a project to do on it. I pulled all the upgrades (exhaust, short-shifter, etc.) off when I sold it in case I have my another mid-life crisis and buy another 3.2 Carrera.
