Whats your mpg...

If nobody has mentioned the obvious... check your tire pressure and get it on the high end for street driving. It can make a MPG difference.

 

They’re out there more than you think. A quick search in the vicinity of my next duty station found a set with decent tires outside of Atlanta from a ‘98 on Craigslist.

I have always had mileage between 10 and 12 mpg depending how heavy the load is plus what I might be towing .

Never checked with a empty Truck.

 

I can get as high as 21.5 on the highway at 70mph. But just average driving around from week to week is about 17-18 if I can keep my foot of the gas peddle.

 

Hand calculated it seems I get 19mpg no matter how I drive really.

Like I said I have factory wheels just crappy tires...may sell current wheels and tires see if I can get enough for a new set.

 

It's more about the right foot than your tires and wheels.

 

Getting 17 in town and 19 freeway on my '03 with 224,000 miles. 4wd but stock size tires. Love the truck!

 

9-14. '00 w/ 245k miles. I only do city driving and it's lots of stop and go. I think I need to rebuild my tranny too.

 

97 2.7 5spd 4x4 on 33x10.50s with 5.29 gears. 19-21 mpg mixed driving. On same tires with stock 4.10 gears I was 20-23 mpg in same driving conditions. That’s with 350k miles on the truck

 

10 mpg with 343/85R17

 

I doubt the calculation was adjusted for the 10% or so difference

 

What is that app or program. I should probably do this.

 

Road trip. It’s $5 and works great. Tracks every expense, repair, part, etc, and had custom alerts for replacement intervals

 

It’s actually 13% off and that’s with the biggest speedo gear Toyota sells, and yes those mpg numbers are corrected. It would be about 25+ mpg without.

Calculating mpg is not rocket surgery, and a properly running vehicle does wonders.

Get an ev unless you have to have a truck or get a prius. Putting back to stock form will improve it. I get 16mpg on my 97 reg cab 4x4 auto on 31’s. Gas is expensive rn and it sucks

 

1998 xtra cab, 3.4, 4x4, 5MT with an OME lift and 31s (all terrains): 19-20 mpg

2004 double cab, 3.4, 4x4, auto with previous owner Broheim spacer lift up front, 265/75r16s (all terrains): 18 mpg

 

3.4 supercharged 31/10.5/r15 BFG KO2= 20mpg average.
