Do you know if there’s an easy way to transfer data from Fuelly.com?

I’ve tracked over 80,000 miles of fuel ups on my 98…

Whats the value of not daily driving your Tacoma in stop and go traffic and keeping the miles off it?

I bought a 2010 Prius for $4500. It had 88,000 miles on it. I spent $400 on OEM headlight housings and replaced them (previous owner struggled with headlight replacement and the housings were melted)

    So $4900 all in.

The Prius now has 130,000 miles on it.

That’s 42,000 less miles on my Tacoma transferred to a car that gets 2.7x the economy and I couldn’t care less if someone opens their door into it.

There’s other intangibles that go into someone buying a second vehicle to be their daily driver, that can’t be calculated into an ROI equation.

My 3.4L xc 4x4 got 360 miles to a tank this past week, which was a shock to me, calculated 22mpg at fill up. Normally I get around 290 maybe 300 by the time the light comes on. The only thing that’s changed is I recently did my cam cover gaskets, new plugs, wires, MAF sensor clean and throttle body clean. Also disconnected both terminals of my battery for some starter motor troubleshooting… For a while the engine idled high and I thought I might’ve screwed something up, but eventually idle came back down to normal and now mileage is better. Is there any computer component on the 1st gen that might have “re-learned” my driving habits after I tuned up the engine? It’s a 2004 auto transmission. I seemed to have read somewhere here that after you do an engine tune it takes a number of driving cycles before you notice any improvement in performance (if any).

It’s also worth noting that if you buy a $300 second car, you haven’t lost $3000, you have a $3000 asset. You don’t have to save the purchase price in fuel to come out financially ahead, unless $3000 is your entire savings

    Very good point.

And also with used cars in general (notably with 1st Gen Tacomas) that if in five years from now I decide to sell my 2004 DC and it has 80,000 less miles on it, because I daily drove my Prius, I can get more for it in a private sale.

i have stock tires I'm wanting to get rid of and replace with bigger ones. Was juts handed down a 1996 extended cap tacoma, starting on some basic builds. Gonna be a big project for me. If you want them, lmk we can work something out. Also, the tires are brand new.

I've done a mod or two
18mpg with 33s and 4800lbs. It does better actually if I am on the highway long enough to use cruise control.

Last 10 months…going from 18 mpg city to 15 mpg IS a big deal with me, with now higher gas prices. Maybe not so much before. Still trying to get to the bottom of less mpg with nothing obvious.

My ac compressor seized, taking the belt out with it. Mileage improved by about 10%. With gas prices as they are now, I’m debating whether or not I should just live with no ac.

I get about 15mpg with 255/85/16 in stop and go traffic. Not bad for a 2003 double cab with 203k miles. Drive like an old granny though.

I have stock rims and new tires, and I'm usually around 18.5-19 MPG. 3.4L V6 5-speed. If I run the A/C or trailer my bass boat, the latter of which I've been doing a ton of lately, it can drop as low as 16 MPG, which really isn't that bad. I plan on driving my Tacoma forever, so I'll just deal with the gas prices. I'm holding off on replacing my wife's 2011 Accord until Honda makes a suitable all-electric vehicle in the States, hopefully that'll be by 2024.

Stock except for BFGOODRICH all terrain tires.
2012 single cab 4 cyl automatic. Only thing done to it is bfgoodrich all terrain in stock size. I'm getting 21.5 mpg average.
