    Nice!

Went from a Tacoma, to 4Runner, to Land Cruiser, to now the GX470.

Figure this one will stay on the ground, and I'll pick up a toy for crawling :burnrubber:

My Brother in Law in looking at getting a GX. currently looking at an 04 and 06. Should he be concerned with these leaks? Is there any advice I should give him? Years to avoid etc?

That’s a rear main and tcase actuator seals gone bad. Tcase is easy. Rear main not so easy.

Finished a bunch more on the GX over the last week. Completed the cam tab mounts, panhard bar correction kit, CMC and pinch weld mod. Got the frame cleaned and painted in a bunch of spots. Coilovers are in, resi's mounted. UCA's / LCA's, spindles and swaybars are installed. Waiting on some new splash guards and various clips. Just have to give it a rough alignment and get it to the shop.

Got everything buttoned up. Suspension in, everything torqued and back on rubber. Got new rubber and shoes mounted today. Alignment scheduled for Friday. Replaced the front output shaft seals and did a drain/fill on the transfer case as well. Just need to mount the wheels/tires and front driveshaft. Absolutely ready to test out the new upgrades this weekend.

Got everything installed and got an alignment. Tested it on the trails this weekend and it performed well. Still need to trim some wheel well liner as it rubs a bit when flexed, but overall pretty happy.

Yeah...I notice they ignore people like you and me asking how

It's crazy how someone makes that mistake; even crazier when said person has done oil changes on that vehicle before

This is one of the reasons nobody touches my shit but me. Go in for an oil change and leave needing a new trans.

Finally starting to get wrapped up. Splash guards installed to finish out the wheel wells, new X2 AGM battery, new battery hold down thanks to @Coupe and an adjustable voltage booster based on recommendation from @crashnburn80 in one of his threads. Keeping any eye on voltages over the next little bit to make sure I'm in the optimal range.

Cold starts in the cold will see the highest voltage spike right after startups. Be sure to retest in the winter or preemptively adjust down to 0.4v.

    Also, nice meter.

Thanks for the heads up. I live in Reno and it's not going to be dropping below 60⁰ for a while. Will definitely take another peak in the fall.

I'm an electrical testing tech and the meter has definitely seen some shit and been through the ringer. Retired this one years ago when I got a 289 and 430. This one now just does house duty.

Getting mine cleaned up and ready to sell. Anyone know where I can get the weatherstripping for the rear door? I checked a few years ago (pre-COVID) and it was pricey. Checked the other day and it's $400! Seriously thinking about trying a purchase from PartSouq...
