Does anyone have a picture or knowledge that can help me make sure I haven't lost any pieces before i put hub and axle back together. I have found this one but i cant tell if the 4x4 has the bearing spacer or is it just the 2wd. I had a bearing go bad after a recent replacement and i wanted to make sure there wasn't a piece missing. There wasn't a spacer in between the axle and the wheel bearing and i was wondering if that was the problem. Any ideas?

if you have ABS all you will have is the ABS tone ring no spacer

Well I always like to plug in my vin to a toyota parts dealer site and see the breakdown. I plugged in the 98 limited v6. But what @mechanicjon said is correct.

Is your ABS light on? Does ABS work?
You should have one or the other.

You should just have ABS ring by itself

Are you ADD or Manuel hubs?
The spacer might not have been the only problem.
Had my new bearing go out twice. Three bearings later (~$75/side koyo bearings out of my pocket) I finally got them fixed.
Long story short in case you don't wanna read. Make sure you also replace outer AND inner hub seals. Use the splined washer between the hub and snap ring if its manual hubs, or make sure the axle nut is properly torqued if its ADD. Make sure the inner race is supported while pressing in the hub and stop pressing once its seated.

First time was because of 2 reasons and they went out at about 5000 miles. It was also right after a muddy wheeling trip.
    First reason:
The shop who did the press work didn't replace the seal between the hubs and spindals. I had bought them and gave them to the shop owner. Found out he didn't replace them when I went back and he made the comment " I never change those out unless the seal looks bad and it's never been a problem." He still had them sitting on the shelf. He also refused to replace the bearings because "I take the truck mudding." He did agree to press the new ones in for free though.
    Second reason:
I swapped my prerunner to 4x4. I was unaware that there is a splined washer that goes on the axle between the bearing and the snap ring that holds the axle in. I believe this is only on manual hubs but i could be wrong. The washer is crucial to allow the axle to seal properly to the hub/spindal. This allowed mud and water in and destroyed the bearing. This probably also lead to one of the original bearings going out which why I was replacing them.
I believe it was a combination of these two reasons that my bearings failed. Because it was partly my fault, I bit the bullet and bought new bearings.

The second time the set went out in less than 3000 miles. I was furious. Got into a huge arguement with the shop owner. I had him walk me through every step of his process. Found out he doesn't support the inner race when pressing the hub into the bearing as stated in @timmah's video. He also presses it in "real tight." This damaged the bearings and doomed both from the start. This could also be added as a 3rd reason the first set failed. I had not even wheeled the truck during that 3000 miles. It didn't even touch dirt. Shop owner had the same story from last time. It was my fualt because "I go mudding." He refused to pay for new bearings or press them in for free (not that it wanted him ever touching anything of mine again).
I had a family member that let me use his press. I followed timmah's video and haven't had an issue since. I know his video is long but it's worth watching as it has lots of good info and tips. And if you can get a press, this is you best option.

You were right the first time. You'll use either the spacer or the abs tone. If you try to use both, the lock ring won't fit properly. Ask me how I know. Lol
Timmah also explains the "difference in application" and says he's gonna use the abs tone instead of the spacer in the video
