it has been a slow battle. they keep telling me the demand is low and it wouldn't be cost effective to make a Prerunners hub

I would purchase everyone they manufactured :)

I am doing my best to keep up with orders. If you have symptoms of a bad wheel bearing now place your order now. I highly advise not to wait until you are getting towed home to place an order. I am roughly one week behind from order placement to ship date.

    Thanks guys!

A bit off topic but I keep wondering......

Now I am a 4x4 guy and not up on my PreRunner info too much. In the FJ world bearing failure is normally due to extreme deep water/mud exposure over time. The other thing is lift/big tire/wheel spacer stress.

So what is it that gets the PreRunner bearings? Lift/big tire/wheel spacer stress?

I'm going to associate the damaged cv dust seal to the majority of bearing failure. Once that seal is compromised it's a count down to bearing failure. I've been about 30k miles on my new hub assemblies and have definitely buried them in water but they are still quiet and smooth.

The Prerunners have that dust cap on the backside of the spindle so that eliminates the cv dust seal. I don't believe that will keep water from coming in if a truck travels through deep water. Once water is in there it's only a matter of time.

The fact that MOOG did a poor job greasing the bearing has something to do with it ;-)

Is that inner dust seal for the spindle? and is it included?
Also is there a certain ft lb to torque the 4 bolts that hold the hub to the spindle? Or should it just be tightened as much as possible or snug?

Just want to find out as much as I can before I do this my self.
This will be my first one

not yet. That's what I need to do. I just had the drivers side front one replaced 6 months ago. I'm hoping it's not that one that is bad. If it is, I hope it had a warranty. If not, then I need to get one to replace the one that may be bad, if that's what is wrong with it.

I'm about to place an order but not sure if I need the 1/2" longer studs. I have aftermarket wheels and lug nuts. I did noticed I get less lug threads with these lug nuts than the originals (6 full turns to be exact) and been driving like this for maybe 40k-50k miles and never had a problem loosing any nuts.

Do you recommend the longer studs?

longer studs typically go with the wheel spacers.
