What length studs will be good with 1-1.5" spacers upfront? Also. Is the dust shield just an added precaution or are they needed and get destroyed during the swap, which is why you offer them?

    Standard studs would be OK.

50/50 shot that the CV dust seals will need to be replaced. you won't know until you remove the hub--no way to inspect them without the hub removed.

I'll just get the seals to be safe. What's the ETA if I ordered today? (2) 4x4 hubs with dust seals.

Your expert help and communications made this easy to accomplish. The Preruner hub replacement was a straight forward total success. It is sweet to have the noise gone. Thank you Kevin

1,Tools. Walked out the 4 bolts and hub evenly.
    2,Cleaned up spindle mount.
    3,Applied film of sealant.
    4, Cleaned back plate.
5, Rear Surface indicates why spindle chamfer had rust. It's why I used sealant.
6, 'O ring' got a thin film of silicone lubricant, then walked new hub on by going around the four mounting bolts evenly. Held the back plate against new hub as it was going in.

Thank you for the pics Jim! This thread would be nothing without the feedback, good or bad, from everyone. The pictures and explanation of the job sure does help out for other members that are attempting the job. Some people are overwhelmed with the thought of replacing the hubs, but like I tell them -- If you have replaced the front brakes on your truck you are only a few bolts away from removing the hub assembly.

    Thanks again Jim!

I've got an '06 Pre-runner - had the front assemblys replaced once already - passenger side making noise again. Am interested in purchasing hubs to do both sides. Looking at the pics this appears to be a straight-forward swap. I do my own front brkaes so (based on the comments above) I should be able to do the hub swap. Am I correct? Are your hub assemblies complete with everything needed?

At first I was hesitant on tackling this job but once I saw that it's basically a couple more steps past a brake job I figured it was going to be super easy. Hopefully mine ship today so I can install them asap.

Did my swap on Saturday. I was ready to take at least 4 hours or work. Boy was I wrong...... took about half hour each side. I recently replaced my rotors so they were loose and came off easy. Then I was surprised when I got to the hub bolts, just a bit of force and they were out. No WD-40 required. I decided to take a video to show how easy it was for me to do this swap and some pictures too....

    Fresh off the box:
    IMG_3377_463941a557f1bacfe9484a9959072c65165cae8a.jpg

This is the view of the ugly rusty hub once I removed my wheel:
    IMG_3380_0129a3ce083670afc5638cb476d5247f4427b025.jpg

    And with the rotor off:
    IMG_3381_f1ac16b81a30f0b9ecccc2873fca67351ab1cc53.jpg

This is what's left after the hub is complete removed:
    IMG_3383_b1a1fe541d3abd1af8484b02bac739670314301d.jpg

I'll add the videos here so you guys can see how easy the hub(s) came off....

    I guess I can't embed media from photobucket :(

On to the rest of the pictures.....
    After the install:

No more rusty looking hub next time I remove my front wheels

    And the finished product.....

Big thanks to Kevin for providing these units at affordable prices and the difference it makes is "Night/Day". Also thanks to 99TacoDriver for providing the tools list as it could be of help to others. I guess I was lucky to only need 14mm and 17mm sockets and the 17mm open end wrench besides my jack and stands.

My truck rides way too soft that makes me miss the rough ride at times :) but I know it's better for the life of the truck.

If anyone wants to help me out uploading the videos, let me know.

Thanks again to Kevin and everyone else who's been contributing to this thread to help people like me.
