Not much detail to it, I use a block of wood and rubber mallet.

Yes it is visible once the assembly is out.

It is replaced from the opposite side of the spindle (inner side/cv side)

    None.... yet
Just ordered a set. Took a flat tire in to get repaired today and the wheel shook pretty good while on the lift. Only 30k on them so a little surprised the OEM hubs are already shot.

    If it is damaged.

I would replace the seal regardless of the shape it's in. Cheap insurance @ $15 each and not much more time added to the job.

Wow 30k is probably one of the lowest mileages I have seen a bearing wear out.

There a way to change them without taking off the spindle or axle?

"most of the time it's the driver's side front that goes bad" wonder why this is - my driver side went at 60,000 and 30,000 miles later with 90,000 on my passenger side it's still good. My brother in laws driver's side front is bad now.

ordered last night.i'm gonna assume you throw a little extra grease in those bearings while assembling?and yes if you add up all the parts you'll spend 200 or so before any labor.good deal right here anyway you cut it.

with the hub out, remove the two 19mm lower ball joint bolts, pull the sway bar out of the spindle. you can then swing the spindle out to access the seal

Before I buy one of these hubs, thoughts on whether my bearing is shot:
    • PO had spacers and 285s on truck
    • at highway speeds very audible "woo woo woo woo" sound
    • turning right, sound goes away
    • replaced bearing at local shop (now out of business)
    • "woo woo woo" diminished, but not gone
    • replaced tires with stock size BFG ATs
    • sound still there and getting progressively worse
    • turn right and it goes away
    • just did 1200 miles on highway and sound is very loud
Right front bearing, or something else?

Bearing. I had the same sound "woo woo" at 50+ mph replaced driver side since it had play and passenger didn't. Now all I hear is my tires. Feels like a new truck
