I would like to comment and say how great NJ's customer service is. I was told bad news at the tire shop about a wheel bearing purchased in August here. NJ stands by his service and integrity. Thank you for promptly responding and caring for your customers. Having to replace a wheel bearing is not cheap especially when in college!

Thank you and I appreciate the phone call.

I cannot stress how imperative it is to the bearings life to properly torque the axle nut. as you said, the shop that installed the bearing used an impact gun
at this point we are unsure why the bearing is going bad but getting you a replacement is priority.

thank you again for the phone call

Just an FYI, my left front wheel bearing has no detectable play whatsoever. But the humming noise, that i thought was tire noise that goes away in turns is bearing noise.

you can also lift the front end up, place jackstands under the frame and free spin the front tires. You will hear a growling type noise and resistance.

Here is my first official post. I have ordered a hub to replace my driver's side bearing. Sad thing is, it was replaced at the dealership about 30K miles ago. Now my warranty had expired so it's back to doing my own maintenance and I think this forum is going to be a great help!

Replaced my driver side bearings with one of yours mid-fall. Just checked both sides and the driver side that I replaced had a lot more resistance when trying to spin the tire, then the passenger side. What's the reasoning for this, did I tighten something up too much?

Not sure I will have to check, could this be the problem?

    173 ft/lb

The bearings life depends on proper installation/torque of the axle nut.

I will be including installation instructions with each order in the new year.

If you do not have a torque wrench that will get you to 173 ft/lb's you can rent one from Auto Zone, Advance Auto, ect..

    Merry Christmas all!

I received my two hub assemblies yesterday and I'm assembling the required tools for the swap. Thanks nj636 for the product!

Can someone confirm the size of the socket needed for the axel bolt? I've seen two sizes; 35 and 36mm. I have a 2006 DC 4x4 v6.

Thanks in advance and, again, Merry Christmas.

I have had a few people ask how I install the oil seal onto the bearing.

    Answer:

with minimal pressure, it allows the oil seal be installed complete & even.

Does anyone know the size of the bolt to get that will assist in getting the rotor off? I attempted to change out one of my assemblies today and got stuck at that point. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer mechanically speaking so any hints are welcome.

Also, is it common for the brake pads to ride the rotor when putting the caliper back on?

    Thanks,
