Did you buy parts for the front or rear?

These are front only driver/passenger assemblies for the Toyota Tacoma/FJ/4Runner, Lexus GX460/470.

The seal between the bearing & hub flange is National 710477, this is for the front assembly.

The rear is completely different than the front. I have sold the rear assemblies to members on here. The rear is a bolt on but a little more work. You would remove the axle and backing plate from the housing then unbolt the hub. Let me know if you have any other questions!
    It looks like this:

Thank you so much, yes it does look like that except I don't have that seal that's shown in your picture. I did order the Koyo rear bearing. Think I might swing by the Toyota dealership today and pick that up (the seal). So is there no hub flange to press into the bearing in the rear? Guess I thought it would?

I will for sure keep your awesome bearings in mind for the front when they go out. Have 112k on the FJ and still going strong. Really appreciate your help!

The hub assembly bolts to the rear housing and the axle slides into the housing.

your wheel bolts to the axle.

Thanks so I shouldn't need a press for the rear? Sorry for my ignorance; seems I'm confusing the front setup (which does require a press) that doesn't work the same as the rear.

    Thanks again!

I attached a schematic that may help explain the rear hub setup (pictures usually help ) :D

a press is not needed for the rear, it is a bolt on design. see above post

Excellent, was worried I needed a press. Appreciate the diagram; will give this a whirl this weekend.

One last question, is the axle shaft snap ring and rear axle bearing inner retainer needed for this job? Show these as non-reusable?

Thanks again for all the help...very informative! :D

If you want to get those parts for the job you can order them from the dealer, not sure if they would stock them.

Never a problem for the help, good luck and report back after you do the job

The Prerunner assembly is $100 more than the 4x4 because the only option for the hub flange is the Toyota part which is $100 more than the Dorman 4x4 part.
