Can't say enough good things about this product! Installed a new pair of Kevin's hubs today as part of my front end rebuild. These suckers slid in place like butter and we made sure to torque the axle nut properly.

Thanks again Kev for making this job a little easier for need today.

 

Question. Can I just pop out that CV seal once I get the old hub assembly off and pop on the new CV seal?

the cv seal is removed and installed on the back side of the spindle.

once the old assembly is removed you can remove the two 19mm bolts at the LBJ. that will allow you to move the spindle and slide the cv shaft out. knock the old seal out and install the new one.

 

Got the parts today and will put them on this week.

Hubs were received in a timely manor. Packaged well and looked good.

Small initial investment from me... Didn't have a 35mm socket or torque wrench that went up to 170 ft/lbs. Harbor freight solved those problems for about 90 bucks. Got a 3/4 torque wrench good from 50-300 ft/lbs for ~60 and an eight piece 3/4 drive socket set for ~ 30.

Hardest part for me was breaking free the axel nut. Mine seemed to be torqued much higher then 170 ft/lbs. Also had one bolt break. The one one the bracket that hold the break lines and such. Was able to drill it out and re-tap.

Took me about 1.5 to do the right front. But I was doing it by myself and spent a decent amount of that time searching for the correct tools haha.

Over all very pleased with the service and outcome. Plan on doing the other side in another day or two.

 

Adding tools to your toolbox isn't a bad thing 1.5 hours isn't bad for your first time. Grab a can of PB blaster for the other side when you decide to tackle it

The Corolla is a different setup than the 2nd gen Tacoma's. The Corolla has a bearing cartridge that is pressed into the steering knuckle, similar to the 1st gen Tacoma's so the hub assembly is not a bolt on style.
