    2007 Toyota Tacoma V6 TRD. Took it to the dealer yesterday and he said slight noise but no play from the left front tire. Opinion? Replace both or just one? If both then $165 per?

    I recommend replacing both for peace of mind & I have noticed that people typically come back a few months later to purchase the second one. Correct $165 each when you buy two :cheers:

    I see there's a great write up on how to replace these. Just curious, what is the torque specs on the axle nut when reinstalling.

    173 ft / LB on the 35mm axle nut.

    The bearings will live a long, happy life.

    How do we get the 173 if we only have a Torque Wrench that goes to 150? Just Wrench on it a little more?

    You need one capable of the spec. You can rent one from a local parts store.

    I have had a few people admit that they used an impact gun to tighten the 35mm axle nut which led to premature bearing failure.

    I cannot stress enough the importance to torque the axle nut to 173 foot pounds.

    Replaced both front assemblies from Kevin what a difference. Quick and easy job thanks to his preassembly for us. I admit did not have a torque wrench for axel nut just quick shot with impact. Thanks again kev
