It will be ripped, torn, spring damaged. Easy to replace -- remove two LBJ 19mm bolts, swing spindle out to remove CV shaft, pry the old seal out & use a block of wood & hammer to install the new seal.

New Taco owner, first post to the forum...

Bought an '07 Texas Edition DC 4x2 for my daughter's first vehicle a little more than a month ago. Based on the reviews of all the competing models and a few test drives, the Taco won out.

The previous owner had installed one of those ridiculous "performance" can mufflers which made it sounds stupid. So the very day I picked it up, I took it to a shop and had it replaced with a stock muffler.

It's a much nicer ride now, except that now I can hear all the squeaks and rattles of an 8 year old vehicle. The first thing I noticed was an annoying buzzing coming from the front - clearly a wheel bearing or both. I did the swerve test to figure out which side it was and determined that it was most noisy when turning left, so I ordered one assembled unit, installed it on the passenger side with the helpful vids available around the web.

I was quite surprised that the buzzing was still there, but less so. So I ordered another set, installed it on the driver's side and now enjoy a very nice quiet ride.

Thanks guys for your excellent product and great price.

PM'd. Starting to feel a vibration/groan noise out of the driver's side front wheel. Figure I should get my hands on two before it's a race against the clock!

Awesome, thanks! Maybe I'll even get them soon enough to swap them this weekend at that rate!

Should be...swapped five hubs on my Outback (one twice--and people say Tacomas go through bearings!) and it was never too difficult. Just need to pick up a socket that will fit this axle nut.

This inner seal that i see everyone adding to they're order, is that the seal that goes on the end of the cv axle where it goes into the hub?

The dust seal is on the cv side of the spindle as seen in the pictures below.

The one on the end of the cv shaft is a dealer item.
