I came to this page for the torque specs and then realized I forgot the dust shield hahaha. Luckily it wasn’t tightened down yet.

Got this knocked out this weekend and the biggest struggle for me was pressing the seal into the spindle. I wasted an hour or two trying to do it with the upper ball joint, tie rod end, and sway bar disconnected and tilting the spindle out but it wouldn't cooperate.

I felt really dumb when I realized it was just 2 more 19mm bolts to pull the whole spindle off. Flat on my garage floor it took all of 30 seconds to press the new seal in. HIGHLY recommend pulling the spindle to do the seal. I couldn't get it in straight otherwise.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the truck rides WAY better and is so much quieter. On top of the vibrations I was feeling through the floorboard it got rid of a steering wheel wobble that I had assumed was an alignment issue (turned out it was the wheel bearing). Now my truck is super smooth going down the highway like it was when new!

subbed, I'm in the process of figuring out if it's my wheel bearing or not. Sounds like tire noise- but I swapped out with a friend and it's still making the humming sound. This replacement assembly looks like substantially less work, than pulling everything apart and possibly screw up pressing the bearing in myself.

I was trying to track down a mystery noise too. Figured out it was the wheel bearing by jacking the front wheels up and pushing on them at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions to see if there was any side to side play. If it wobbles it’s the wheel bearing for sure.

Looks like that was the trick. I tried it yesterday, but after a drive and had very little play. So I wasn't sure if that was it, maybe the bearing was warm and tightened things up.

Did the same today while cold, noticeably different. @05Taco4x4, you'll be getting an order from me hopefully in the very near future.

Shot a short video, can someone confirm for me if it's super bad? Or could I go a little bit while I save up?

That’s pretty worn. Mine didn’t move quite that much but I can’t speak for how drivable it is or isn’t. I feel like it’s a hard thing to judge so I played it safe and borrowed my girlfriends car for a few days until I could fix it. This was my first wheel bearing job so someone with more experience might be able to chime in.

That's about the worst that I've seen. I highly recommend that you adjust your budget and put something else on hold.

ordering now. This is my first time issue with any bearings, I haven't had friends with the problem on their cars. So it was hard for me to gauge how bad it really was. Glad I shot the video. Thanks for the suggestion.
