Those magnetic beer holsters are reason enough to never buy an aluminum bodied Ford...

Ordered. Not as pricey as I was expecting + I ordered a sheet to make my tailgate a flat surface.

Here is a screenshot of cart if anyone is interested

The 16x56 sheet is for tailgate, 10 x 54 is for front wheel well (im not going to cover bumper area as I plan on a plate bumper in future), an the 67 x 14 is the rear wheel wells. Hopefully these sizes are appropriate.

Really? road noise? I'm a little surprised but interested. Do you wheel the truck much? I'm wondering how long these would last getting scraped and pushed around?

I wheel a lot, but just recently did the cutting and 35’s which is what led to the liners. I’ll have to let you know as time goes on.

Hey bud, how did you end up attaching your DIY fender liners? Did you reuse the plastic anchors?

    Have any photos?

I like these but too pricey:

I left tabs on the metal fender when I cut it, and then bent the tabs out and cut them so that they were a snug fit up against the flare for a little support. I attached the liners to the same tabs using self drilling screws. I’m in CO on an elk hunt now and will need to rotate my tires when I get home. I’ll try to remember to get some good pics with the tire out of the way.

Yeah... the abs liners have been awesome... and a lot cheaper than that option.. I have his front splash guards and they are all cracked up after about a year on the truck...

Here are a couple pictures... just left some tabs on the metal fender and attached with self tappers.

Use a heat gun to form to wheel well and if you put the time in they can come out to look factory.. I want to re-do mine at some point and be a little more careful to watch where Im trimming as there are a couple spots I left a gap between liner and fender flare.

I also sprayed the inside of the liners with a few coats of rustoleums rubberized undercoating in an attempt to help with noise reduction.

Hey dude, I know this is an old post, but wanted to ask a question. Most people when cutting tabs bend them in towards the truck. From your description is sounds like you bent them out towards the flare. Is that correct? If so what was your theory behind this?

Doing the chop this weekend and just exploring options. Thanks man.

I bent them out so that they would support the flare. It's a little more tedious since you have to cut the tabs more precisely, but it seemed worth it to me. I cut mine just a hair long so that they would push against the flare slightly. I'm lazy and like going through the automatic car wash, and I was concerned about the flares getting ripped off in there. I've had them cut for about 60k miles, and that hasn't been a problem. Good luck, and post up some pics when you get it done!

got my fronts done. May need to clean up the flare a bit with a flat disk.

so here’s my next questions for you Brooks
i see you fit the abs sheet under the wheel well and attached pre cutting the sheet. what was your strategy for getting the sheet lined up with the tabs and screwing it in?

Pretty much what was your trick to get it lined up drill hole wise with plastic and tab if that makes sense. Thanks man
