6112s and 5160 , Dakars , Superbumps x4 , u-bolt flip , All Pro Skids (hacked and raised) , 265/70R17 KO2s, SEMA wheels, couple of machined things here and there

    100% positive.

I have 5" from the frame side bump plate to the top of my spacer and I have 5.75" of stroke in the shock. I also grabbed the truck with my forklift and flexed it out.

KOH was the first real test of all of these components and it was a strenuous test to say the least. No issues on the rocks but the high speed whoops got me.

I would like to explicitly point out that I am extremely happy with the bumps and don't want anyone reading this to think otherwise.

Big whoops take a pretty good amount of travel. You may need to consider going to a spring under setup for your needs.

Can you imagine how the bottoming out would have felt with the stock bump stops.... Ouch.

The stock bumps were truly atrocious, these are WAY better.

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to do next. SUA isn't my first choice as my intention for this truck is to be a mild all arounder. It's my DD but it needs to be able to crawl a little and run at slightly faster than normal speeds through rough roads or the desert.

I'm very seriously considering going with a replacement leaf pack, a stiffer shock, and maybe hydraulic bumps but I am open to suggestions.

The way you have it setup with the bumpstops is allowing for about as much up travel as is possible. Going with a taller leaf pack, or more lift will increase that gap though and give you more up-travel, just a little less on down. Unless you reconfigure your shock mounting setup.

I like that set up you have. Would you consider selling a pair to me? I'm trying to figure a way to have the U-bolt flip kit and Firestone airbags with Daystar cradles. I think your spacer may be the answer I've been looking for.

Do you have the ability to drill and tap into your backing plate fairly accurately? I will sell you a set but you'd need to figure a way to get the mating pattern into your backing plate.

My neighbor has a drill press and I can buy a tap, maybe I'll look into making one myself. Any pointers? Where did you get the material from? I was going to go with the Toytec u-bolt flip kit too.

I'm a machinist so I just grabbed something off of my stock rack . Barring that, I'd look for a recycling yard.

ETA: Here's what I did. U bolt flip and plate are from wheelers.

image.jpg Got my fronts installed. I had the hardest time getting my stock ones off.

Tip: if you wrap electrical tape around the head of the new bolt untill it makes a nice tight fit into the bump stop itself,, you can just Twist the new bump stop into the threads, then torque them down with the Allen head.

My front bump stops from Wheelers seemed to have the wrong thread on the bolts. The first one was extremely difficult to install and was clearly re-cutting the threads. I compared the bolt on the second stop to the factory bump stop thread and they were clearly a different pitch. This was on a 2015 DCSB. It appears the Wheelers bolt was a coarser thread than the factory stop. I did get both installed by it took a lot of effort as I was effectively retapping the mounting nut with the Wheelers bolt.

Shoot, I wish you had contacted us. We discovered recently that our bolt supplier gave us the wrong bolts. Part # on box was correct, but turned out the bolts in the box were not. We thought we caught everyone who may have gotten the wrong ones.

Ah, that explains it. Had a case of get-done-itis so just made it work, could have hit up a hard ware store too.
