    Hey y’all,

I’ve got a friend who is just starting on modding his 2011 Tacoma who doesn’t know anything about modifying trucks. I was wondering if anyone could relay me some suggestions for an off-road-y type of rims/wheels. He’s not looking to go over 2-3 inches for a suspension lift so not too big of a wheel that doesn’t give a lot of side-wall.

If he wants more sidewall, the smallest wheel he can go with is 16”. I’m assuming he wants beefy-looking tires? If it’s his daily driver, he should stick in the all-terrain category. Mud-terrains say it all but isn’t as ideal if the truck stays on pavement most of the time. As far as sizes go, the largest he can fit without trimming is 265/75R16, regardless if he gets a 2-3” suspension lift. If he’s willing to fit a bigger tire, he’ll have to look into getting a CMC(cab mount chop), trimming of the lower corners of the fender flares and possibly flatten his pinch weld.
