    Howdy again.
Ford has a greed to do my lemon buyback after 9 months or so, rejected their initial offer yesterday.

Already taken an extended test drive of a '19 Taco, my question is when do the next model years usually show up? Trying to judge the gap between returning my car and buying a new one.

Really like the options for the next model year (especially the ones I cant aftermarket) so want to go that route. Shortly after that will come more posts on lifts and accessories lol.

Hmm, not bad, should be able to go a couple months with just a motorcycle.

    Thanks

I bought a 19 as soon as I could. The first dealer to get one on the lot had it mid September.

Alright. Got an offer I could finally stomach accepting today. Now to determine if a power seat, front/side cameras, and led headlights are worth waiting 2-3 months.... Prices are probably going up 2ish-k which is what I would pay anyway for those features.

Let's see how long I can stall turning in my keys lol.

Anyone buy model year old Tacomas for significantly less than the new models? (or are we only talking a 1-2k discount?)

There is a $1000 Rebate going on right now on the 2019s, you could probably get a pretty good deal

When the 19’s came out, they upped the rebate on 18’s to $1500. But... Good deals can be had if you try and shop around and especially if you can let dealers know that you are shopping around they will be willing to help you out. I bought a 19 OR Double can manual for just over $31K OTD with taxes, tags, and title included. Just don’t settle for the first deal you work out.

Thanks, I plan on emailing every dealer in like 10 states. Basically going to spend the next 3 days just getting the email addresses lol. Just finished the research on what states have the best lemon laws (this Ford experience has soured me somewhat).

Just called a couple dealers in Washington and they both say we wont be getting the 2020's until December. Ooof.

I think if you want a good, reliable, capable truck and can do without the extra goodies then just get a 19. You already mentioned the added extras will probably increase the price. That’s the exact reason I didn’t wait. I really wanted a Voodoo blue OR (if they make it happen), but I just couldn’t justify paying for extras that I may or may not even want just to pay more. I got a deal I couldn’t pass up and I got a good interest rate so I am very happy.

I honestly thought it was nationwide, weird how they make it different by regions.

    It’s a regional thing. Montana is $750

I wanted all the extras of the 20’s, but really wanted Voodoo Blue. Sounds like we had a similar dilemma.

I’d skip getting this generation Tacoma. It’s a good vehicle but with the tranny issues and price not worth it. I’d buy an older rig then see what the new Tundras or Tacoma’s have to offer.

    Negotiation
    $1,000 rebate and
    $750 military.
    Yeah... Not

Just to clarify... That’s with 4% sales tax and $799 doc fee which is outrageous but it is what it is. We have a super high volume dealership that has manual OR’s for $33K. It’s not hard to get to just over $31K with negotiating and rebates. This biggest thing was not having a trade in the equation which made a nice difference. No hidden fees or money being moved to sweeten up a BS deal.

    Don’t believe me...

I thought that the experience of a really big dealer would be a negative one... I couldn’t have been more wrong. They took the time and care to make the deal I wanted. They even matched and beat the interest rate that I told them I could get from my local bank. That’s a good thing in my book and I will definitely shop their again when my wife upgrades to a 4Runner at some point in the future.
