I stopped for gas. The pumps were in a bit of a toilet bowl. The fresh snow on the ground was covering wet icy pavement. I was going slow, but there wasn't any thing else I could do.

If you look at the road, you can see where my front tires were traveling when the rear slid to the left and into the pole.

Goddamn it, sorry for feelings of rage and sadness

Fix or leave it and get some sliders with a kickout. Might keep this from happening

I can't tell from the picture - is the door sill dented at all or is it just scraped up?

Well good thing it retains some function till the repair. Just ensure the door seals are still doing their job so you don't end up with a wet carpet issue.

It "Appears" your rocker panel looks safe. Door replacement is obvious... may want to check the alignment of the door striker that's in the C-pillar area/ opening. If it doesn't bind at this moment, consider yourself lucky.

So you were just driving in a straight line and the back end just slid down to the left?
Unless you were driving like a reckless maniac, gas station is responsible for that damage. Failure to clear snow, hazard, etc. Call a lawyer and sue their asses.
