I talked to my dealer last week when getting a radiator flush. He said the 2016 models will be in mid-late September or early October.

I bought the first '15 that my dealer had received/ordered and I picked it up in mid august last year.

This response is either one of two things.

    A. You don't know how model year relases work.

    B. You don't know how model year releases work, but you think you do, so you left a shitty comment like that.

My honest bet is the first week of October before a regular amount of them come in. You may see some dealers with a few trucks before then.
That's just my bet for my area. From poking around at some of these threads, some areas may get them sooner and some later. It sounds like production is starting in the next couple weeks and most dealers have an allocation for Aug.
but Toyota has not begun the manufacturing process as of yet as far as I know. But soon. So keep your eyes peeled.

I physically looked at dealerdaily (Toyota's inventory tracking site) yesterday. Only 30 Tacomas were in the system with confirmed August build dates, with estimated delivery dates in August for the entire US. Please understand that these are only estimated build dates and they still need to get shipped to the dealer from there, probably ganged together with other vehicles which may take a week or two. I'm guessing some, just some, will show up in late August.

FYI the dealer I was checking also had a 2015 TRD Pro being built and set to arrive the first week of August still, which will be one of the last I guess, because there will not be TRD Pros available in 2016, unless Toyota changes something later.

from the time the vehicle is built to dealer is between 6-8 weeks since they are on the same continent. now if your ordering a 4runner or lexus, then your wait is 2-3 months since they are coming from japan.

here is the allocation paperwork I got when I put mine in for my 4runner. I ordered on 12-oct-13 and I picked it up on 04-dec-2013.

It would be cheaper to build one, and for cheaper you could have better stuff. Pros are a waste of money.

2015's are still on the production line this week in Texas. There were a couple of completed 2016's in there but none on the assembly line. I have heard from a rather reliable source that the manufacturing switch will take place to the 2016's in August.
