I have a 2011 with just over 1k on it. when should I change the break-in oil? I want to got to Amsoil but I figured I would change the oil to Castral oil for the first change and then change to Amsoil.

I changed mine at around 3K the very first time. Then I went to full synthetic shortly after. Some people have told me not to change to synthetic until the engine has been properly broken in at around 30K but it was to late and I was already using full synthetic. But I'm not sure how true that saying is.

Yes. I am going to full synthetic oil. I heard people talk about doing 2 oil changes before switching to synthetic oil. But have not heard wait until 30K.

I changed mine at 2500 miles and went with Mobile 1.

I honestly don't think there's any issues with however you want to do it. There's all sorts of different scenarios of what people have done. You can't go wrong either way. If it was that critical.....I'm sure they would've given instructions of what to do.

Do these trucks even come with "break-in" oil? I did the first change at 1,000 miles.

I did my first oil change at 5000 like the manual said. Switched to synthetic on the first oil change and no issues.

Changed to mobil 1 at 5000 km. Sales guy told me wait till like 20 000 km, but service manager sad it is fine. but don't go back and forth between regular and synth.
