I'm pretty darn new to off roading and only know of a couple places to go. I've lately been going through the Browns Camp area, other than that I've gone down around Bend, OR a tiny bit. What're some other great places to check out? I'm not new to Oregon by any means, born and raised here, just haven't gone out into "off roading" territory since I never had a vehicle capable till now.

Glad to see another Oregon native on the forums. I think we’re getting pretty rare nowadays if you know what I mean haha.

Being serious, there’s some pretty good spots out East of Mt Hood - near Badger Lake is an area that comes to mind. The Ollalie Lake area isn’t bad either. Central Oregon has a lot of lakes you can check out too.

I’m a big fan of scouting out lakes to fish and exploring while I’m out there. Good way to spend a weekend if you have time and are prepared for the unexpected.

Native Oregonian here was well (63 years). As stated by wguest the area around Badger lake is fun. There are some nice tracks up around the Santiam. If you want to go to the far side of the state the Steens have some good places to get dirty. Glass butte east of Bend is fun. When you go don’t forget to post pictures!

Exactly. Never visit. It's horrible here :D

Shotgun OHV area isn't half bad if you're near Eugene/Springfield.

Salem Oregon here, I’d be interested in some kind of outing sometime. Hard to find time, but I’ll go up into the Willamette National Forest areas around Detroit/Breitenbush in the winter for snow and hit the beach a lot in the summer. There are lots of forest roads around in the coast range and Cascade foothills, not so much for hardcore wheeling but great drives and scenery.
