How long do you plan on driving it? What’s a real realistic mileage you think a Gen 3 could get? Thanks!

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I'm planning on 200K if I live long enough, assuming ICE vehicles don't get banned.
Based on the way it's going this should not be a problem.

We should do a thread of oldest lowest mileage third gen since we have so many high mileage threads.

It depends how many engine and differential replacements you're willing to accept. Should be able to hit 200K miles with two engines and if the stars align and you're living right, the original diff should last the life of the truck or at least until the warranty is up.

The other factor, and probably the most important, is to run Toyota brand 0W20 oil and filter, and change it every 5K miles. :crapstorm:

    What's the age requirement...2016?

I am close to 16K and I've had my 2021 Sport 18 months!

But then again, there are owners who are barely putting any miles on their Tacoma...

    Dang!

    I know this isn't a competition but...dividing 26K by 4 years is 6500 miles per year!

We estimate 10K per year for insurance purposes so anything under that number is good.

Gotta remember that short trips less than 2 miles is not good for the battery.

And letting it sit...well, that's out of the question unless you put a battery tender on it.

I have a battery tender on my riding mower...and the darn battery is 5 years old! (which is the time to swap it so I'm good!)

    Keep enjoying your Tacoma!

Most likely because it's out of warranty, and/or used market is crazy over priced now.

Yeah those sound like good reasons. The majority of Toyota sales must be repeat buyers.
I see the same thing with 4Runners and GX, usually around 3 years old or less and around 60k miles. Most of the time they are certified pre owned.

If I was putting a good bit of miles on a vehicle, and didn't care about getting the vehicle paid off. Trading in late model Toyotas is probably the way to go.

It still seems weird to trade in vehicles that are know for their longevity.
