Where are the Tacomas?

What regions of the country are seeing the most trucks on lots?

In the Northwest, at least Oregon and Washington, even large dealers have very limited supply.

Does anyone know when to expect production to ramp up ?

I waited thru the 2015 sales cycle on hints of a new truck and now I cannot find an access cab TRD OR to test drive after a month of phone calls.

 

Toyota released a statement concerning a limited part supply for the new Tacomas. Dealers are struggling to find them. My dealer had four last week and sold three in one day. They estimated another two weeks before they would even get another one on the lot. Due to this shortage, it's difficult to create your own build. I'd say give it another two to three months and everything will be settled.

 

"My" dealer (WV) has 5 (but they always sell fast. When I bought my 2015, it had only been off the truck for a few hours). Next closest dealer (larger) only has 3.

 

Its a luck of the draw. Even the 2nd gens didn't sit long in my area. My local dealer ordered somewhere around 10-12 every shipment and would run out before the next delivery.

 

Dealer that is south of me had four and they have all been sold. They had a blue limited that was my favorite and it sold the next day after I checked it out. Supply vs. demand is going be tough for a while I guess.

 

New England... dealer near me has 5 Tacos (1 Base, 2 SR5, 2 Sports), all AC's.

 

exactly. Demand is high. The chevy dealers here can't even keep crappy Colorados on the lot lol

The dealer I got mine from had 7 in stock. Usually I haven't seen more than 2-3 at any one location.

 

I'm in Western Washington and the local dealer has a handful of 16's but nothing else. Almost never see any 15's for sale locally.

 

My Dealer has a lot of trade in 2nd Gens...........Glad I sold mine before the release of the third gen. I would have never been able to sell it for what I got. Dealer said 2nd Gens are dropping in price for the time being.

East side of Dallas, Texas they only can get one or two in a day and they sell immediately. I was negotiating on a truck and another salesperson sold it out from under us. They ended up bringing in an almost identical one by semi at a dealership 7 hours away the next day. When we got to the dealership to sign the papers the next day, there were 2 different couples standing by the semi. They didn't unload it until I got there, as the other couples were trying to buy it.

 

I was fortunate enough to find one I wanted locally, just not at the dealership I was working with. I went in on a Wednesday, test drove a 2016, but the dealership didn't have any that I wanted. They had the VIN from the one I found online and they located it 30-40 miles away. They did a dealer trade on Thursday, I went in on Friday and did the paperwork! Two day wait is much more tolerable than two, four, or five months!

 

The dealer here (Albuquerque - American Toyota) has plenty of DCs. It seems the ACs sell very fast here, along with the OR trim. They even have a couple of DCSB ORs, but they're in the high 30s.

 

Lithia in Missoula here has 8 according to their website. I've kinda been keeping an eye on their stock and they don't seem to be moving here like they do elsewhere.

 

I was waiting for Mid December delivery. A different dealer called me and said they had a truck someone ordered but when they called him he had already found a truck. The sales person asked if I would like to see it, two hours later it was mine. This dealer had two trucks come in the morning, both were sold within a six hours.

Seems most dealers have a few SR5's in stock, but sport and offroad versions are sold quickly. Los Angeles - Orange County

 

What parts are missing? My guess was jbl, but now im not so convinced. Everything seems to be getting built except longbed jbl's

 

Local dealer here in Montgmery, AL has 21 sitting on the lot. Everything from a limited to an SR. However, all are double cabs.

 

saw a truck of with about 7-8 double cabs heading up the desolate 5 toward norther California when I was making my trip

 

I'm in SE PA. Dealers have a bunch of AC's, but few DC's or they don't make the inventory. I just looked at like 20 dealers within 100 miles of me, and there were only like 10 OR's and probably 50 Sports. Lots of SR5's though, of all styles.
