It's been a while since i put on my 35's, and my speedometer is 5 mph off. I called Toyota and they said they couldn't recalibrate it. Im guessing everyone went to shops to have it adjusted, i was just wondering where you got it done.

My speedo is way off, can a Scanguage or Ultraguage be adjusted to give the right reading? I know they show speed, not sure if they can be adjusted though

Yes, they can be adjusted. So if you want to use your scangauge/ultragauge as your speedometer that is one way to do it.

One can never have too many light bars.
Does anyone on here have any experience with the recalibration voiding a warranty? For example if you brought in a truck with a bad transmission with 59K on it with an aftermarket recalibration that if stock would be covered by the 60K powertrain?

I know I have had a bunch of friends buy old 4 runners with 35's and they don't care about the incorrect mileage but would it effect resale on a dealer trade in for example?

Just use a GPS, and put speed marker stickers on the speedometer gauge.

Not with my Tacoma, but with my little Miata "play car," where I replaced my OEM 17" tires/rims (ridiculous for that car) with 15", I plan to have my wife help me re-mark the speedometer, using the GPS...

I'm only on 33s, but I used the GPS and have a pretty good "guesstimate" how fast I am going. If I really need to know (don't know why I would) I can just use my torque app - mph calibrated to tire size.

I've actually installed the Hypertech In-Line speedometer calibrator. It works great.

It gets tiresome after a while not to have your speedometer and odometer reading accurately. My speedo went from reading too slow when I was on stock gearing on 33" tires - to reading too fast when I regeared to 4.88.

    1. Open the box.
    2. Plug it into your PC with the cable.
    3. Run the software and enter your tire size and gearing.
    4. Remove your dash cluster (this is the hard part - but it's not too bad)
    5. Plug in the calibrator. There's a right way and a wrong way - so BE CAREFUL!
    6. Reassemble everything
    7. Drink adult beverage

I have the hypertech calibrator. It works great. I have had 35's with 4.56 gears and had no problem getting it right. Now I have 33's with the 4.56's and just a little adjustment and everything is great. I have had mine for several years.

I called Hypertech and asked if they have one for a 2015 and they don't, yet. I wonder if the 2014 model will work on my 2015 taco? Anyone, Bueller?
