I tinted the tails on my previous taco. I went way too dark though and soon hated them. I think you went just about the right shade on yours.

Not much to update on …..

Replaced the pads and rotors again

    upload_2024-1-8_23-31-23.jpg

Replaced the ball joints and sway bar end links again.

    upload_2024-1-8_23-32-43.jpg

Rebuilt the ceramic fog light jumpers

    upload_2024-1-8_23-33-17.jpg

Picked up a fresh set of Duratracs while they were on sale. The current set has about about 45k miles on them. I should be able to get another 5k miles out of them, before I replace them

    upload_2024-1-8_23-38-42.jpg

Lastly, I ordered a replacement set of seat covers today because mine are coming apart after 4 years/100k miles. Coverking offers a post warranty replacement program and will replace the full row for 99$+ shipping. Way cheaper than buying replacements and worth it to not look at a set of worn out seat covers any longer.

I need to fix the high mount auxiliary back up lights. There’s a short to ground in the harness somewhere - probably in one of the crappy GM Weatherpack connectors.

I need to vinyl wrap the tailgate so the trash bag stops scratching the fuck out of it.

I might vinyl wrap the center of the hood black to match the roof.

I need to redo the rear seat delete platform, the MDF finally cracked in the one corner from kneeling on it.

I really don’t know what else I wanna do.

    Update :

    Replacement seat covers showed up.

The interior looks so much better with a fresh set of sway covers.

    Before :

    upload_2024-1-29_13-20-4.jpg

    After :

    upload_2024-1-29_13-20-29.jpg

I love that Coverking will replace them for 100$.

Other than that, I’ve been putzing around with a new camp kitchen/table.

We’ve been dragging around 2 48”x24” folding tables for camping - one for cooking/washing and one for prepping and eating. They take up too much room.

I found a 72”x30” folding table that will do everything. It’s large enough for the sink and stove, enough for prepping, and still enough room for 2 of us to sit and eat at.

    Here’s the initial design:

    upload_2024-1-29_13-25-59.png

And here’s what I came up with.

    upload_2024-1-29_13-26-58.jpg

    upload_2024-1-29_13-27-18.jpg

    upload_2024-1-29_13-29-53.jpg

I added detachable storage pouches across the front and a mesh drying pouch next to the sink.

    upload_2024-1-29_13-28-46.jpg

And the sink will fold up and stay attached to the table.

    upload_2024-1-29_13-29-20.jpg

I’ve been putzing around with other storage ideas as well.

I got 2 of these - one to hang off the awning and one to hang in the tent for storage.

    upload_2024-1-29_13-31-4.jpg

I’m getting really bored with winter and need to get back outside and use all this stuff.

Thats a great camp kitchen setup. I bought one for when I take out my camper this year, but I honestly like your setup better. It was probably cheaper than what I bought too LOL.

    Tell me about it.

Ive been looking for a good replacement since at least summer.

Ive looked at everything that exists and even ordered 3 or 4 different ones and I hated them all.

There’s nothing on the market that comes close to what this table is gonna do.

    Another small update -

Got tired of using a little pop up privvy for camp showers.

Picked up an Ironman en-suite on sale for 120$ shipped.

Finally got around to mounting it.

Now it just needs to warm up enough to start camping again.

    Welp.

buying more stuff cause I’m bored.

The fridge I have is cool but it’s not big enough…

So I bought a new one.

    upload_2024-2-25_23-7-39.jpg

    Same brand, just larger.

The old one is a 20qt, the new one is a 30qt.

    upload_2024-2-25_23-8-42.jpg

I cut 1.5” off of the legs on the platform to make it fit better.

    upload_2024-2-25_23-9-50.jpg

I need to find a piece of carpet cover the new side pieces because the new fridge is just a little wider.

    upload_2024-2-25_23-10-59.jpg

I’m happy with the fit, I just need to find a basket for it.

Finished up the new fridge platform.

    upload_2024-3-12_0-48-57.jpg

    upload_2024-3-12_0-49-12.jpg

Chopped 2.5” out of the original platform height.

Lost a little bit of of storage space under the platform, but I can open the fridge enough to get the plastic tubs out out it now so it’s worth it.

I finally got around to making a bracket to hold the first aid kit and misc stuff Molle pouches.

    upload_2024-3-12_0-53-44.jpg

    upload_2024-3-12_0-54-0.jpg

    upload_2024-3-12_0-54-30.jpg

I found Velcro backed Molle pouches that are designed to be “quick release “.

    upload_2024-3-12_0-57-7.jpg

    upload_2024-3-12_0-58-3.jpg

And I redid my camping toiletries bag to match the other two Molle pouches.

    upload_2024-3-12_1-0-44.jpg

    upload_2024-3-12_1-1-7.jpg

Crossing more little stuff off the list.

min ready for camping season to start now….

Finally finished the en-suite and water heater mount

The mount slides out on the cross bars to get the material off the truck when using. Then it slides back once it’s all rolled up to keep it tucked up agains the shell.

100% sorted out the fridge platform I think.

    upload_2024-3-18_0-41-11.jpg

Added a couple small dividers to it.

And I finally sorted out my chainsaw bag.

The saw leaks bar oil if it’s not on its side.

Nothing a 5$ bin from Walmart can’t fix.

Now the stupid bag isn’t gonna be saturated in bar oil.

My ADHD got the best of me today. Again.

After staring at the fridge platform for a while, I still wasn’t happy with it.

The fridge is strapped down to the platform and you have to undo 2 buckles to open the lid.

However this fridge and the old one wasn’t mounted to the truck and I’ve never really liked that.

So today I figured out a more secure mounting solution.

The bulkhead behind the rear seat has threaded mounting points where the headrests mount. Since I don’t have headrests, this would be the perfect place to tie the fridge into.

    upload_2024-3-23_0-54-13.jpg

I took a piece of 2x3 and countersunk 2 holes into it to bolt it to the bulkhead.

    upload_2024-3-23_0-59-23.jpg

Wrapped it in matching carpet, and added a strap and 2 buckles to it.

    upload_2024-3-23_1-0-48.jpg

    Bolted up to the bulkhead.

    upload_2024-3-23_1-2-34.jpg

    upload_2024-3-23_1-18-43.jpg

Now the fridge sits on the platform and the strap pulls the fridge tight against the 2x3.

    upload_2024-3-23_1-18-58.jpg

    upload_2024-3-23_1-19-10.jpg

The fridge is super secure now. I don’t have to rely on the straps holding it in place anymore. The singular remaining strap is just there to secure the lid at this point.

    More boring stuff….

    Replaced the rag joint finally.

    upload_2024-4-17_12-24-1.jpg

Most of the excessive play is gone from the wheel finally.

I added a light under the fridge platform and wired it to the door pin switch.

    upload_2024-4-17_12-25-19.jpg

And I’ve become really obsessed with storage lately.

I added a couple Molle pouches to the fridge strap foradditional storage space.

Got bored. Put the cab rack back on.

Installed the limb risers just because.

And I finally sorted out the jerry can / propane tank mount to the point I’m 99% happy with it.

    upload_2024-5-11_21-59-34.jpg

And I finally sorted out the on board water set up. Just waiting on parts to show up now.
