My buddy just got a 85 tacoma with the fuel injected 4 banger and it misses while driving. Any thoughts? What about finding a complete used engine?

well first of all the tacoma name was not used until 95.5 , so what he has is a toyota pickup

second if it is just a miss then it would prob be alot easier to just find what cyl is missing and fix that. more than likely just a lifter or something simple.

used engine look on CL, or in a Junk Yard. Remanufactured engine then google

Don't waste your time on the 4cyl....

If you're gonna do an engine swap, get a 3.4L from a 1st gen tacoma or go V8!!!
