...I've always rotated my tires by putting the rear tires straight to the front and cris crossing the fronts to the rear. Am I doing it wrong this whole time??

Holy thread bump! Pictures of bent cross member?? I jack it up in the front like mjp2 does also for tire rotations..

Found this wondering if I could jack up the truck by the rear pumpkin. Seems I can. I was told that's not good for some vehicles.

Sooooo... From 6 pages of this, I still don't see an answer of where to place the jack and the stands lol. PDF links are all broken in previous posts.

I usually lift the front end by this circle thing that sticks out..... It is right in the center.
Never really out it on stands so..... Can't comment on that

Love the old thread. This was helpful for me. I searched with Google. I only have two jack stands and one floor jack. I plan to use the stands on the rear and old the front up by the cross member up front with the jack but that seems a little sketchy, not having jack stands for the front too...

Here's an idea, use the spare. I know it's more work but look at it this way, you get to exercise the lifting and lowering mechanism and you can easily check the air in the spare. Then when you're on that lonely road on a rainy night and you get that flat you know the spare will come down and it will have air in it. Now doing your rotation you only have one tire off the ground at a time.

I like where your heads at as that would totally work if I had a full size spare. But I didn't shell out the extra $250 for another tire when I bought these slightly larger tires. Good thinking though. It probably would have been worth it to shell that out just for this scenario and of course the additional mileage you get out of the set of tires with the fifth.

You could still use the spare to rotate your tires. Rotate all the way around and put the spare back under the truck.

Yes, old thread...but it came up when I was searching jack points on my first gen.
I've always lifted my front corners closer to the tire, kinda under the shock where the three rounded bits hang down(only place my jack can get past the suspension, with a 4" block of wood to even manage that). Is that not a good place? Never had an issue yet, but I'd rather not break anything. I'd post a picture, but don't have one right now.
