Where to wheel in NY?

I thought the Mt Beacon road was closed? I’ve seen video of people rock crawling at the top what is the rest of the road like?

 

It’s not legally generally. I think a few local Jeep clubs have access to it but without them it’s definitely not legal.

 

It would be nice to find a taco club, I guess you can join some jeep clubs. That would be blasphemy.

 

What is TW then chopped liver lol sound like my father. Yeah most Jeep clubs I have found don’t let any other vehicle types play in the rain deer games.

 

Ha Ha I mean an organized one that could gain wheeling opportunities like the big jeep clubs get.

 

Idk what the deal is officially. I’m always riding my mtn bike there and always see all types of vehicles up there. I’ve even been up there once and had a couple rangers who were driving back down wave to me so idk. I’ve only been able to get to the lower view point and the radio tower as getting to the fire tower there’s a decent amount of crawling.

 

Sooooooooo......., let's start a Taco club....Or at least a meet up on the trails.

 

What should we call ourselves? NY Yodas? Taco trucks?

 

I'm in long island, there aint shit here. We actually have trials all over the island but none of them are legal. So if you do go in, you're taking a chance with DEC

 

I like NY Yodas! Empire Tacoma? Tacoma Empire? My tag may say Northern NJ but I actually live just over the border in NY lol.
All this talk got me wanting some dirt time. Let's do a trail ride, Catskills anyone?

I've been thinking- Catskills Tacoma Club.

 

But we're not all from the catskills, I would have thrown in ADK tacoma club.

Pittstown state forest, has a trail throw it,and thin dirt road then pick up trail again a quarter mile down road ,it goes all the way to to Grafton state park, dumps out here first trail like this in my 2016 Tacoma .it has lots of challenging spots, but awesome, did it by my self,got little dirty glad I have skids on my truck.

I did get stuck, I have front 2" and rear 1" lift with Firestone destination mt2.
If you drive reasonable, you can make it. You do get wiped around little,but that's the fun part

I WOULD have Wildpeaks on, if the asshole at Costco told me on the phone they only mount tires they sell. Called today to make an appointment, they said just walk in. I waited until after work, took my time, and when I got there they told me they won't mount them for me . I could have scheduled elsewhere had I known...

And hopefully next weekend I'll have my lift in, 2.5" front and 1.5-2" rear
