    I replaced my radiator on my '04, 4wd, 3.4 this past weekend. A bit more than 230k on the original radiator. It was starting to ooze coolant from the top. I ordered the Denso from Amazon after shopping around a bit online. It arrived, as others have said, not well packaged. Some bent fins but no core damage. The core and tank assembly is the same size as stock-the largest one in the catalog and of course my truck is an Automatic-It's a doublecab. The height-distance on the mounting brackets is right on but the brackets themselves are too narrow by a combined 1/4"-3/8". Onto plan-b: I figured I'd use the stock brackets but.... the bottom Hex bolts were corroded and I broke a hex bit trying to remove them-even after some PB-Blaster & heat. Plan c: instead of drilling the holes on truck out, I removed the brackets and shimmed them out with washers. Of course the supplied bolts were now too short to reach the captive nuts. I used two of the hex head ones from my stock radiator (The uppers that I could remove) and two from the skid plate. The front skid-plate bolts are the shortest and the new, now unused, radiator bolts fit the skid plate locations. Finally, I was concerned about the fan shroud bolts lining up after shimming the mounting brackets outward, but the Denso's shroud mounts are a clip type captive nut so there is some adjustability built in. I removed the grill and was very careful but still managed to snap a couple clips. I had replacements in hand. I also bough new coolant from Toyota when I picked up the clips.

    Update: 1/30. After installation, I kept topping up the radiator each morning after install as it self-bled. maybe 3 small top-ups. Just back from running it hard on a Baja surf trip and no problems.

    Just started doing the swap. My radiator cracked/leaked at the top, plastic tank.
    For reference if anyone is concerned I picked up a Spectra for my 2002 Tacoma Prerunner (2.7L automatic) from Pep Boys. If you have a Pep Boys in your area, order online and you get 25% off always. I got my with a radiator cap for under $100.
    Below pic is (left) the Harrison (oem?) old one and (right) the new Spectra radiator. We'll see how long it lasts...

    Update on the Spectra 1755 radiator install. I ran into a common issue of the four mounting bolts not lining up with the OEM holes. However, the problem was the hangers -one on each side of the radiator. I bent one of the hangers away so it wouldn't hook and the four holes lined up enough to bolt the radiator in place. Hope this helps if anyone runs into this.

    I bought those Radiators from the Long gone Radiator Barn ( CSF manufacture) I doubt any part numbers would help.

    They were listed for the The 3.0 in the late eighties and early nineties

    I would Check The CSF Web Site The model # 2056 might be the ones I bought years ago .

    CSF is about the only company building these I have dealt with in the past

    22re champion radiator version swap with Ford taurus fan mod. Did it for clearancing reasons.

    Has anyone else had an issue with the fitting for connecting the transmission fluid line? I did mine a year ago and have not been able to connect it so than it doesn't slowly leak fluid. Am I missing something? I even got a replacement under warranty for the first attempt thinking that the silver metal piece protruding from the radiator was crimped closed during shipping.

    I'd try a smaller hose, or bigger Barb fitting, or a standard hose clamp and tighten it down good.

    I may have misled you on the type of fitting. It doesn't have a clamp, it's got a nut on it that you use a wrench on.

    So the fitting that screws into the radiator? Not the hose that attaches to the fitting?

    I put some Teflon tape on the threads before I threaded it in. If you want an even better solution Teflon paste will definitely do the trick.

    That's a good idea, although I was thinking of that previously and didn't because I figured the tranny fluid would just eat it...I have some paste at home that I'll give a whirl.
