All it takes is money. Plenty of shops would be more than happy to build a turbo setup. But expect a 10k+ bill.

I never asked anyone to feel "sorry" for me. Just asking what options there are available, if any. That's all. Color is reversible. It's just a vinyl wrap. Thanks for your concern.

I expected decreased gas mileage. I didn't expect the gas mileage to be cut in half however. I also don't think that 13-14 MPG is an unrealistic expectation. Which is why I'm looking for solutions. I thought that's what these forums were for. My bad...

Have you contacted URD to see if they have any plans?

Maybe the Tundra would've been better suited? I saw you had mentioned getting the Tacoma over the tundra for its size and utility. You'd probably be flushing a lot of $$$ trading in eh?

A S/C isn't going to help your MPG's. Power yes but all the stuff you've bolted to the truck will still suck your mileage down. If you bought your truck for mileage you bought the wrong one (16 or not). Before I bolted all the shit on mine I could get 20-21 MPG if I babied it around. Now... I'm lucky to get 17 MPG babying it around. But, I didn't buy my truck for mileage. I bought it for a very specific reason. To take off road.

Enjoy your truck. It's nice looking and looks like you've put alot into it. The money you have tied up in extras looks like the price of fuel is the least of your concerns? The price of a S/C will never be made up in MPG's. Power is the only thing you would gain.

I have a fair amount of experience with superchargers and turbos. I've owned a few of both but only V8's. I came here to see if anyone has already done a power adder on the 3.5L, but it looks as if it hasn't been done yet. I'm not afraid to be the first either. A few years ago, I designed a couple different one-off single and twin turbo kits for my cars. They made tons of power and were extremely reliable. I may end up going this route. Wondering how difficult it will be to remap fuel curves and adjust timing on these motors to get the proper A\F ratio?

Here's a single set-up I designed and built for my '65 Cobra a few years back.

Won't be nearly as easy as the Cobra. Nice car.

Haters are gonna hate. The wrap is a little over the top but you've made it your own. Nice job on the mods. I think your only shot with mpg is going to change gearing like was stated previously. Good luck. Keep us updated. Not everyone is a troll

I'm really surprised how many people are giving OP shit about the wrap. I mean, I fucking hate wraps and wouldn't be caught dead with one, unless of course I was running a business where a good part of that business has to do with portraying a tacticool image and shooting guns and shit and my truck was an integral part of the image and business model. Then my truck would look exactly like OPs.

I think I'll start with the 4.30 gears and see what that does.

Did you try turning it off and back on? Make sure it's plugged in. Did you try blowing in the cartridge? Hit the reset button and wait 30-60 seconds.

You have to regear my man.

    I think that'll work good. Especially off-road.

Also give URD a call, I heard somewhere on here that they were at least looking into an SC (that's official friend-of-a-friend-of-an-uncle style grapevine...). I think these new modern engines from Toyota are less and less likely to get something though.

Also, I generally hate wraps and gaudiness and usually the color orange, but you did something right because yours looks awesome, so mad props and don't listen to all the haters :)

Have you run it on a scale to see how much weight you've added fully loaded with full vaults? As others have said, forced induction will get you a lot of HP but not likely any better MPG. The wind resistance from all the racks and armor, and rolling resistance from the tire will always suck gas.

I only get 16.5 with my twin turbo 3.5 f150 crew with stock wheels and tires. I don't really have any added extra weight. your truck probably weighs about as much as mine with all your stuff on it. I don't really think that mileage is that bad on that motor for what it is.

Start with a regear, ECGS is a good source for 3rd members and lockers!
Then consider getting a turbo for it!

This Twin Turbo set-up I designed and built was more complicated but worked out perfect.
