I am interested in the TRD Sport 4x4 V6 Auto Access Cab. No color preference yet. Also am in no hurry, so I will wait until some models hit the showrooms before making a final decision.

SR 4WD Access Cab (4 Cylinder). Getting that model so that it will be easier to do a rear axle swap to a Dana 60, as there will be less technology, and wires to deal with.

DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 V6 AT. Though I'm not sure if I'm digging the fake hood scoop on the Sport.

DCSB TRD Sport 4x2 V6 Auto, not sure on color yet.... According to Car and Driver, the MSRP should be right around $32k which isn't too shabby.

I am going to make a final decision once I see MPG #'s and actual pricing.

Going with 2WD because even with snow, unless it is an insane amount I don't need 4WD. State is on top of the sh%t and I travel on major roadways. Plus, with a good tire and a little bed weight it will be fine. This will be my DD so might as well get something with room and be comfortable.

As far as a trail truck, I have been looking for a high mileage, access cab, V6 TRD 1st gen anyways. Something I can cut up and do a SAS and not care.

    Smart choice.
I think I'll go for the TRD Sport 4x2 V6 Auto DCLB (need to be able to haul 2 bikes). 31265 + 900 = $32165. But I'll test drive it first.

Yeah, eventually I am going to get a small camper. Getting to the point where I am ready to retire from tent camping. I use my current 2.7L manual reg cab as a tow pig more than I'd like to admit and it is just that, a pig. Seems like I am constantly pulling a trailer for yard work, picking up large items, etc.

Limited. This is going to be my 15-20 year daily driver to work. Having some comfort and other features (leather, sunroof, etc) are important after leaving a 4-door sedan. It snows a lot here in the winter, and there are hills. Need the 4x4 for that. I don't need a tremendous capacity in the rear, so short bed is ok (by default on a Limited) with tow package just in case I need to tow a trailer to fit more stuff.

I was going with the Limited but the lack of colors for leather made me decide to go with the Sport DCSB 4x4 Silver color. I will just have someone install after market leather for my seats. i will also have the grill changed out or painted. Will also have the technolgy package JBL and premium package included. No sunroof I can do with out that. Will do the upgraded towing package as well. Looking to pay between 38,000 to 40,000 for my Sport. That is a whole lot of doe for a mid size truck but I am hooked on Toyota. My first Sport 2006 which was loaded as well cost me 29,700.00

Torn between the off-road and sport model currently.. On the spec PDF document the TRD off-road models list a chrome rear bumper - but every picture I've seen has a color matching painted rear bumper?

Do you get a painted bumper in the off-road only if you opt for the package that has the built in back up sensors?

Yes. "Premium & technology" package adds blind spot monitors, which means color-matched bumper. See the pdf info sheets that TFL posted on their review

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
What about the solid axle 4x4 3.0 Diesel option? Why did that one get left off the poll, sigh.

Alright... at the mercy of getting flamed, yes i have pre-ordered a Tacoma and will be emailing the dealer with the details tonight. I'm trading in my beloved FJ for a DCLB OR with T&C package. The only conundrum I am having is deciding between Inferno and Blazing Blue, if Inferno what interior color would YOU choose? I haven't seen either color in person and everyone says you can't appreciate either without seeing it in person which i would do but i've already got the dealer to agree to a -$1,000 MSRP and I need a truck by year end. So... without having a bunch of non helpful replies, can anyone that has seen at least one of these colors in person tell me their personal opinion?

    Thanks.
