I have been working with my salesperson for several weeks. As soon as the embargoed information came out on August 17, I sent the PDFs to her telling her which model and options I wanted. She was able to get the information in to the Gulf Coast Regional manager. I got confirmation today that my truck was being built and I should be getting it in September.

I'm addressing specifically the configuration tool on Toyota's website and why it doesn't allow a virtual build, and how it works when it does allow them. ;)

Yep, knew that but thought I'd add my info. I envy the ability of other brands to order a factory built truck but I'm not willing to go to the dark side. This year my boss ordered an F150 and still had trouble getting it built. When it finally showed up, it had an air leak problem which took another month to fix.

I'm surprised any of the big, non luxury brands do fully customizable builds anymore.

    Good for Ford!

The DCSB Sport I have on order has the sunroof which is apparently part of the technology package. It adds about $3500 I believe to the price.

so that pricing at $38,770 w/ dest fee matches what was posted in another thread to the dollar. and since that is a limited (7582) I can base what ours will cost since it will be a 7542.

    thanks :)

Is the brown leather really the only color available for leather? Brown?

I'll make your decision easy. Go with silver because the SR is not available in the new colors Quicksand, Blazing Blue, Inferno.

I'm a die-hard MT fan. I'm also a function over form guy. Just wish Toyota would've offered stick for SR and SR5 models in V6 DC 4X4 configurations. Cost is a big factor for me. Plan to keep Tacoma til it dies, but that means chance of not driving stick for next 15+ years. Other vehicle is AT Ford Escape. Granted, majority of full size are only AT. Just don't want to get bored. Don't know if I can justify up charge for TRD Sport.

Just ordered a DCLB Trd Off road, premium and tech package with JBL, and floor mats, tow package. Inferno. Does anyone know if all the infernos come with the black cloth with contrast stitching interior (as shown in the brochure)? Not a huge fan of the orange bits on the dash, but like the exterior color too much, so thinking I can tolerate it. I'm also not a huge fan of the trapezoidal cloth pattern on the trd models, reminds me of airplane seats from the 80s. I personally think the SR5 interiors are nicer.

If you chose the black interior then you get the orange bits. If you chose the gray/ gunmetal then no orange bits.

What's up with the black fender flares on the OR?? 2nd Gen only the low end models had them and now they randomly throw them on the OR version... Also, color match everything but then put on a chrome rear bumper...

I think their idea, practical or not, is that off-roading will create a lot of debris that will get all over and scratch the fenders, so the plastic ones will take the wear better.
