Wow, that's a killer deal. It's like $699 on Crutchfield.

So you would need one of the maestro kits
i my self didn’t get that because 1 it’s expensive and 2 i heard that a lot of the parameters displayed aren’t fully accurate.
I just got steering wheel controls.

    sorry to make this complicated.

Do i also need the maestro to1 or to2 in combination with the idatalink?

The site doesn't list the RR or RR2 has compatible.

im not sure to be honest, but you will need the module for sure to do the translation to the Head Unit. i believe the difference between the RR and RR2 is with the RR2 there is some additional programming features. im assuming this means pulling in other sensors as well into the unit

if you click on the Install Tab the instructions may better give you better insight as well. or give them a call you would think they would get you lined up with what you need.

So I’ve been searching for a solid answer but haven’t been able to. If you swap out your steering wheel from say an 08 Tacoma to a Camry Se or a Corolla steering wheel that has voice controls and volume controls. Would you need any other wiring besides the IData link and a new head unit to make it link up and be usable? Would you need any wiring from the new steering wheel? This is the set up I was thinking with a new steering wheel

So far very pleased wit how this has worked out and love the wireless Apple CarPlay.

UPDATE 10/20/21: No longer very pleased with performance, have sent it back to Pioneer now 2 times for random reboots/crashes. Waiting for it to get repaired/replaced/refunded. Been loyal to Pioneer for decades, my next stereo will be from their competitors.

Is there any units out there are keep the in-dash navigation and existing microphone while also have CarPlay (and preferably wireless CarPlay)? The system in my 2016 limited actually sounds good to me, it's more features like CarPlay I'm looking for.

I have a 2016 and between the OEM Entune 3.0, ALPINE Halo 9, and SONY XAV AX7000. Any thoughts either which way? Or none of those? Thoughts on aftermarket when it has to do with electronics?

Been an excellent unit. Took a little while to figure everything out the user interface was a bit confusing at the start but once I learned all the settings and features it’s been solid. No problems with CarPlay or anything else. Overall I’ve been happy with it.

I'll be using wireless Android lol .

Glad to hear you still enjoy it. Did you upgrade anything else other than the HU?

I did. I added a kenwood 5 channel class d amp. Speakers in the front and rear and an 8 inch jl sub. Overall it sounds ok but probably wouldn’t choose that amp again. I’m getting older and my hearing isn’t what it used to be so for me I would go with something that puts out a little more power. The jl 8 in the shallow box is great for space and it is definitely a significant improvement over stock but if you are looking to really feel the music you will need something with a little more space to work I think.
