Is one ceramic coating better then another ? I am leaning towards opticoat for my new Tacoma since I know the detailed and his attention to detail. I have found other people doing it for same price, but all use different ceramic coatings. So the question is are they all the same? Any to stay away from? Looking to do a 2 or 3 year one.

I would say the differences are on the maintenance programs. Some coatings that are offered require you to come back periodically.

I didn’t realize Opticoat offered a 2 or 3 year product. I was thinking they were longer

Have had a few on a few trucks, don't fall for the CP marketing scheme, Opticoat is decent, I'm running CQuartz UK 3.0 being in the salt belt now.

And by the way your profile states 2018 Pro, that my friend is voodoo blue not cav blue which would indicate its a 2019...

Yea I couldn’t change it. I originally had a 2018 coming in white then this came avail the day before delivery and swapped. Already made the name and it doesn’t let me change!

On ceramic note, I have park near a a green belt at my apartment and the grass watering system water is hard. I get hard water spots and hoping this will help with upkeep

It will help some, but hard water spots are even tough on ceramic coatings. PM the great one, @tcBob, to see about a name change and you can adjust your profile box below yourself. Welcome!

I just did a graphene coating on my 2020. One the benefits of using a graphene coating is a better heat distribution though thermodynamics. There will be less surface temperature due to heat being transferred from the coating to the water which will speed up evaporation. Graphene coating are resistant to the calcium left behind due to the hydrophobic property of the coating. This is where is has an edge on ceramic coatings. You may want to check this as an option.

Pan the organizer just had a very informative video with the R&D Lab Manager of 303 Products today. It is pretty interesting and informative if you are into this sort of thing.

303 is one of those companies too that you can stand by, I wouldn't hesitate using any of their stuff along with Carpro.

Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray coating won in "Project Farm" test. I like this cat. Reminds me of a uncle I use to have. I bought the Audew 2000 booster/jumper box after seeing his test also.

I have CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 and Gliss on my current vehicle. I'm about a year in, and it's still holding strong. My new Tacoma should be delivered sometime next month, and my current plans are to use Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light (CSL) and EXO. I've applied both coatings before, and between the two, I think CSL/EXO is easier to work with. CSL/EXO also has a better durability rating compared to other consumer grade ceramic coatings on the market. They're both great products either way.

If you are going to a ceramic shop, finding an honest outfit is the hard part. I used Bob Moses for my Taco. They use Sensha which has an 8 year warranty.

It’s a Japanese product. Really high quality.
That being said, I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about people getting screwed over. Do some research before you choose a place. Make sure they actually do what they say.

Ceramic Pro is a good product as well.

I use Turtewax Ceramic. Two coats and ir beads for a year. $16 for the spray. Easy and fast. Every couple of months if I have time I top it with TW Seal and Shine. Easy and fast. Both protect any black plastic too.

For clay bar I use plumbers putty. $0.99 cents for at least two cars. Works great. I like fast and easy that lasts and is cheap. Too many other things to do in life

Plumbers putty has zero abrasives therefore is not effective. Clay bars are designed to removed bonded contaminates.
