Which Do You Like Best Single Din Or Double Din ?

I was just wodering which is the over all top pick in stereo sze for the tacoma`s, single din or the double din? Vote up and lets see which size wins!!

 

More room for the nav screen .

 

Who wouldnt prefer a double DIN nav or dvd? I think far too many of the single DIN options out there look tacky. That being said...cant justify the price of dvd-nav at the moment.

 

I sit on the fence myself. Sometimes I like the look of the double din , and then sometimes it looks way to BIG!! This is my wife`s truck and DVD and nav. is not a choice. She dislikes DVD`s and she doesn`t need the nav. system. So for me a double din would just be for cd`s and ipod mainly. Then sometimes I just like the looks of the single din, but that little shelf is worthless , I`m guessing anyways. I guess for me it will go down to what head unit I pick.

 

single din. it's the only size with serious sound performance in mind. nobody makes a double din that has time alignment and 3 way active crossovers built in. plus i watch enough tv at home.

 

I listen to enuf music at home....but seeing the Nav directions on the screen (if that's the type you choose to use) is handy.

 

I've been debating a stero upgrade my self.
Stock is ok, just ok. And double din touchscreen is the way i might go. dvd or nav? i haven't made up my mind.

I'm probably keeping the stock HU. At least for now. But in my previous vehicle I ran a double din and loved it. Was a Pioneer Avic D3. Kinda wish I hadn't sold it.

 

Who would you say makes the best single din unit for serious sound performance? What brand and model would you say?

 

alpine and pioneer makes very solid head units.

 

I just got a jvc arsenal single din and i love it... Probably not the most high performance unit on the planet but it has a usb port. It was pretty cheap too.

I like single, every unit I have looked at before getting my Sony was much better as a single. The doubles all seem like units that my mother would want to use, not me.

 

I like the look of the double din but it needs to be flush. I've seen many with the corners sticking out. The single looks a bit odd unless one were to use the empty space for something else like a CB.

I was thinking about dropping some dollas on a double D so I could stick it in there.

However, I think Im just gonna save up for the itablet instead and just run a line out to my amps (when I get them)

 

Of course most likely not gonna be able to fit an itablet in my dash....

 

Double din units. Single dins look funny.

 

Love the DD look but I have to wait a few months to get mine!
