You got in in 4 days shipped from Europe? Here’s the shipping quote it gave me.

I bought the same camera and apparently got a bad one. The picture is blurry, the colors are messed up and there are horizontal lines through the picture.
I had a spare camera from an Accord I used to own which works perfectly, but it’s in a case that won’t work on the Tacoma.

Regarding the RFCC, choose to have it shipped from the HK warehouse instead of Europe. The cheapest fee is like $6. I opted for DHL 3-5 day for around $20.

    The controller works perfectly.

I just checked as well and I’m seeing the same shipping options. Looks like they are not using FedEx at present for some reason. Like my invoice shows, I only paid $24 for 3 day air, and the product was delivered in 4 days from ordering. Perhaps contact them and inquire if they can ship FedEx... they responded to my questions within a day on two separate occasions.

Edit: it appears the stock location may make the shipping difference... my unit came from HK stock, and at present they are shipping from Eastern Europe. Check back later or call/email and see if you can’t get the product shipped from HK stock instead.

I've got the Car Rover front cam coming. I think you mentioned. Anyway, I'll keep a lookout for the RFCC TTG2 with cheaper shipping and buy when it hits the right price. If anyone sees it, hollah. TIA.

Edit: I got a reply from Car-solutions ebay store. It says they will have the RFCC TTG2 back on their ebay store in about a month. It was listed as $122 with free shipping before. Hopefully that stays the same when it is relisted.

Does anybody know how the rfcc version manages power? For the anytime backup camera solution, power to the camera is only engaged when the camera is needed. I’d rather not power the camera 24/7 or even only when the truck is on.

    Thanks.

Email them and ask, they respond timely... I’m thinking the system only supplies power when needed, hence the reason you connect power to the car solutions harness and not the battery.

Got this in and will be installing in the next week. Instructions sure seem lacking but with whats here, should be able to figure it out. The only wires needing ran through the firewall are the AV and black/red for the front camera, right?

Correct... the yellow RCA (hardest to get through the firewall) and the red and black AWG 18, all three connect front camera to HU harness. You will need an additional length of 18 gauge wire most likley, depending on what ships with your selected camera.

Correct. That's what I got too so I contacted them on ebay and they said it would be available on ebay in about a month. It was listed for $122 with free shipping. They also said they would inform me when it became available on ebay. I'll post back here if they let me know.

I just received the camera you mentioned. I gotta say, it's tiny. I wasn't expecting it to be so small. The mount is so small that, at first, I thought it didn't come in the box but it was in there. I'm sure it'll be fine though. Thanks for the link.

The RFCC TTG2 from car solutions is available on Ebay for $122.70 with free shipping as of this posting. If you want one you better hurry. There were only 4 left when I ordered. Shipped from Hong Kong for estimated April 12 - May 23 delivery.

This might be a good spot for me as well. However, the link no longer works for the camera. Do you have a name I can search it by?

    Thanks!

I just did the Car Solutions install over the weekend and am very impressed with it; install was pretty straightforward. This is the camera I used:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018800TR2/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Didn't have to cut any wires to flip the image or anything. It doesn't have the lines like a backup camera does, which is how I wanted it. Image quality is excellent.

I haven't taken a pic since installing it, but I did take a pic of where I mounted the camera mount one day last week when I had the grill off. Right below the TSS:

    PBpJzYVR.jpg

This is the wire I used to run power from the camera to the head unit, as the Car Solutions only comes with a video cable:

Thanks. I just need the camera, I have a Kenwood head unit with camera on demand as one of the functions. Just need to power the camera and plug in the RCA.

Your picture didn't come through for some reason.

Gotcha, that camera should work good for you. I removed the pic and added it a different way, so it should show up now. I just used some superglue to hold the mount to the grille, and then once that was dried I used epoxy to reinforce it so it's solid.
