OP, thanks for starting this thread. It prompted me to do what I had been thinking about, and it couldn't be any easier to install. All previous comments regarding Carsolutions, camera, and extra 18 gauge wire are correct. I got essentially the same price as you from the Hong Kong warehouse. Ordered on a Tuesday and had it on Thursday, and that's to Kansas.

    Did you get it installed?

This is where I mounted mine if anyone needs ideas:

Has anyone tried installing a third camera using the extra input on the Car Solutions module?

Lol, I can not even see your camera, what a great job. Where would you mount a 3rd camera and would it still work using your steering wheel controls?

I am thinking a third camera mounted in the back of the cab so that you can see a child in a car seat would be great; that's why I'm interested in if the 3rd camera is an option or not. I'll email car solutions and see what they say.

BTW, this is the camera I got
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B018800TR2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I just hung it upside-down in the provided bracket. The hardest part is getting the camera to point perfectly forward. It's easy to come close enough, but I am kind of OCD about it. Mine is now affixed with the double-side adhesive piece they provide. Haven't really figured out how to resolve my OCD before I permantly affix, but am also thinking that a permanent attachment (epoxy?) might not be the best in case something happens to the camera that necessitates its replacement.

Beat me to it. What do they say about great minds? Looks like we installed the cameras the same way.

Nice, that is where I have mine. I had it pointed straight forward but bent it down a little to get the license plate bracket in view so I could judge distance.

I keep saying epoxy, but I actually superglued mine and then used a bunch of Goop Marine Sealant (I use this stuff for everything) to hold it in place. It would come off if I really wanted to get it off.

If something happened to the camera you could just buy and new one and put it in the existing bracket, no?

Good point. I like that idea. Now for my OCD. I did the same, bending down to get a view just over the front bumper. But the left-right microadjustment has got me. What I have is perfectly functional but the orientation is very slightly off. Maybe if I can talk somebody into watching the image in the cab while I adjust that would work. But your method of affixing is the way to go.

I wonder if Rob knows you can ditch the switch and now use your steering wheel controls. Still has me scratching my head how that works.

Man that looks like a pain to install! Differences with the Car Solutions one are the camera gets power and ground via the module, so you don't have to tap a fuse or ground to chasis; just run the pos/neg cables back to the head unit with the RCA cable you have to run anyway. Plus, you don't have to wire up a switch.

I just followed the link for the camera. I couldn't find out what the resolution is. I bought a different brand that looks exactly the same that is 520 lines of resolution. Can you look on your paperwork for your camera and tell me the resolution of this one. More lines are always better. TIA.

I don't have my paperwork anymore; but I can tell you that the camera I added on the front has a better picture than the stock rear-view cam.

    Which one did you order?

I just found the resolution for the one I posted. On the Q&A part of the page someone had asked what the resolution was and the seller stated 640x480i.
