I do agree that HIDs are a good way to go, but if you're seeking plug-n-play then take a gander at VLEDs Micro. I've had them for about 2 months and I'm pleased with the output and performance. The nightime driving in inclement weather is well above satisfactory also. Just drove 160 miles in the rain from 8pm-11pm on Monday and never felt lacking in light:

    http://www.vleds.com/shop-application/application-low-beam/h11-h8-h9/micro-h11-h16-h8-h9.html

They are also $30 off per kit at the moment. I went with 5K color as to be more white/yellow and less white/blue.

Led retrofits are awesome if you hate everyone on the road except you. The beam does not cut off like it should.

3rd gen = projector housings...not reflectors. Sharp cutoff for the win.

Like others have said HID is better for output/throw but do require extra hardware (harness/ballasts). LED is direct plug and play but doesn't offer the same output/throw as HID.

I personally went with XenonDepot 35w hid kit and am pleased.

Innovited HID - don't buy the expensive ones just because people jump on the bandwagon and say they are the best out there.

    Thank me later.

I have the xenon volt with 4300k on my wife's 4 runner with stock projectors. Output is great and no bounce flickering. Had bad flickering issue's with morimoto. Just saying because I did get free replacement but they all did the same.

Do you know if these work for lows and fogs?

Sure did. 1/4 turn and they pop out. Just check the alignment before you put em back in. Check them against the bulbs you took out. Also check you didn’t double up the gaskets.

If you purchase HID kits for your lowbeams, do you also need a separate kit for the high beams?

In that case would you say LED’s are better, or just leave them alone?

Ahh.. only reason I mentioned it was because in my last car I left them alone and my lowbeams seemed brighter than my high beams when ever I did use them.. it was somewhat irritating lol. But I’ll probably just leave them alone. Thank you!
