okay well thats what i would have guessed but i wanted to make sure. you guys are alot of help! so what about that rough country lift? what are you thoughts on that?

 

i have not really thought about the rough country.. there are a few people with them as far as i know but im not entirely positive.. have you tried to search?

 

through google.. thats how i found it. i was talking about a specific on that didnt use spacers for the front, but a "strut extender" and then shakles for the rear. question is would the extenders hold up?

 

its a Top-Plate Spacer; the spacer goes on top of the strut assembly so you don't need to remove and compress springs to install. as to the physics of the lift, its the same thing. your springs are compressed more to lift the truck anyways, its just an easier application process. and its a shackle lift in the back so you don't have to pull your leave pack off the axle.

 

right i knew how it worked. i was wondering about the strength of it. i did find a similiar kit to that though that had the top-plate spacer made out of an aluminum block. that looked a little more stable and stronger. most these kind of kits come with new rear shocks for longer travel i assume? is this pretty necessary? i found a few that did not.

 

yea if your lifting the back you need longer shocks or you'll deff risk breaking your stock ones, the downtravel isn't enough to cover a lift.
