So I just replaced my stock steel wheels with a set of 2016 Tacoma Off road wheels. I need a nice skid plate. Something that looks really good. I never go off road. Everywhere I hunt or fish has a parking lots or fairly easy fields to drive through so strength of the skid plate is a plus but not a huge factor. Here is a picture of my 2015 Taco.

For $400 or less, what should I get. Cheaper is definitely better.

If you never wheel/offroad than keep it OEM.

Sounds like you don't "need" a skidplate

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Relentless Fab front IFS skid in 1/4" aluminum. I don't drag the truck across rocks, but I needed something better than the factory tinfoil. Lightweight, sturdy enough, and very well built.

Found a killer deal on an OEM skid plate. About a third the price of one from dealer. Gonna put it on this weekend sometime. Has anyone LINE-X'ed an OEM plate? I thought that might be better looking than the standard gray.

OK. Well, the powder coat is really cool, but I was thinking about rubberizing it or spraying it with Line-X. I was wondering if anybody has done that and how it looks.

My Pelfreybilt IFS front skid is Line-X'd and it's great!:thumbsup:Has a few beauty scars since this picture was taken but the Line-X is very durable!image.jpg

What did they charge you? LINE-X is suppose to have a lifetime guarantee. I wonder if they would redo it for you for free???

Actually not sure on the price!Did a trade with a TW friend of mine for the skid and it was already Line-X'd!As far as the redo i'd have to look into it!Once it takes a beating from offroading i'm not sure if it would be covered under there policy.I can always have it touched up!I would definitely consider having your's done John!

After proper prep work, I sprayed mine with that textured rocker panel paint. I don't do hard core off-roading, so it suites my needs. Easy to touch up as needed.

There may be skid plates as good as RCI Metalworks, but I don't think there are any better, fit & finish perfect. Great people to do business With. jmop
