Access Cab Base, Access Cab Prerunner, Double Cab base, or Double Cab Prerunner? I believe the only differences in the base and prerunner trims is that the prerunners sit a few inches higher. Am I correct and if so is that the only difference between the two trims?

Well to start, you can only get the V6 in the Prerunner & 4 X 4 models. There are really too many differences to list here. Check out Toyota's web site, it allows ya to compare the models together.

I don't want the V6 or 4x4, so can I still get the prerunner or is prerunners only come in V6?

You are the one buying a new truck - go to a dealer or online to the Toyota site and look at all the options available. Many changes this year that were not available prior. This is you best source of information so you can decide what model is best for you. Then, this forum will guide you to spend twice as much as you thought you would spend, and tell you what to buy. :D

I went Monday and put a deposit down on a Red 2012 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4 cyl AT Prerunner 4x2! Can't wait to get it! They tell me it should be in by the end of October or beginning of November.

I cant imagine how Badass having a truck with 0-100 miles would be. I could be there for my truck like a newborn baby!!! :) Its like the stork bringing a newborn baby! haha Congrats man, I expect to see a sick build for a 2012 prerunner in the future!
