Which Toytec Lift????

    Hi guys,
    I am considering a Toytec lift and am looking at the Ultimate lift kit vs the 3" lift kit. Isn't one of these responsible for shimmy in some trucks at low speeds? If so which one is it?
    The 3" lift kit is very reasonable and will supposedly keep the stock ride. But the Ultimate looks to be the kit that you wouldn't have to upgrade, but may change the ride...
    Help, I am new and unsure what to choose and which direction to go in.

    Really though any lift will give you the shimmy,luck of the draw i guess but as far as which one not sure, what do you plan on doing witht the lift.

    If you life over about 2.5 inches you run the risk of excessive CV joint angles and drive line shimmies- Not everyone has had the issues.

    I assume when you say "3 inch lift" versus "ultimate" you are talking about the difference between the coilover ultimate and the spacer 3 inch...as they will both yield you about 3 inches (depending on how you set the coilovers).

    What are you seeking to gain by lifting?? Looks or Offroad performance???

    I have yet to lift a truck and have it have a shimmy. :)

    You're lucky. I'm 1 for 1. Lifted my truck and had a shimmy from the rear drive line.

    Lifting for mostly looks with some offroading but nothing serious.
    What is the remedy for the shimmy if if does happen to occur?

    Might have to shim the rear axle/leaf pack...Might have to drop the diff...Might have to adjust the carrier for the two part axle...Might need UCAs to correct the alignment.

    I think that about covers all of it.

    Ultimate lift kit, LR UCA's, Bi-xenon 8000K headlights, Xenon 8000K foglites, (4) KC slimlites on N-Fab light bar, Extang trifecta toneau cover
    No question about it. Go with the Ultimate. Thats what I got with the LR UCA's. Ride changed some but would estimate it is still at least 95% factory feel. I have never been sorry yet and have people everywhere I go asking and complimenting my truck. Pics don't do it justice. More in my gallery.
