White Delight Solid Axle Swap

So last night I ripped the suspension out so I could bring it to my buddy's work. We tore apart both kings so we could install the new aluminum bump stops he had machined for me. We also added some oil and took out the air bubbles from when I changed the lines out. Then we charged the reservoirs with 200 psi nitrogen. I have learned so much about these coilovers it's insane. A word about filling the reservoirs with air. If you do so it will add moisture to the cylinder and could possibly rust from the inside out. It also fluctuates exponentially with temperature compared to nitrogen.

Maybe a dumb question, but what are the spacers for? Whole build looks amazing!

 

Your good man. The spacers are my bump stops. I could have moved the shock tabs to the top of the axle and it would have done the same thing. This will bottom the shock out about 1/8" before the panhard bar hits the engine.

 

This thing is awesome. my dream truck. you want to trade. I love the picture where you can still see the camper shell. Never get rid of the shell

Did you do hydro assist? Any computer related problems? (speed/abs)

 

The only computer related problems was the 4 wheel drive actuator. I just bolted that to the frame and plugged er in. I will update when I drive the thing. I will show you guys the exhaust when I do it too.

The only new thing on this truck for the past week or so is this... Been waiting on drivelines too dang long now. I should get them Wednesday hopefully and then exhaust. This bamf kit is killer though!! He gave me everything I need just gotta weld er up. I bought it unwelded to see if I could push it up in the wheel well higher and maybe get a longer shock. Bigger is better right?

You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the input. I will edit the post at the beginning for this next part to warn people but I spent the night taking apart the steering wheel. I was one of the few that sat and spun the steering wheel forever haha. The clock spring setup is a 350$ part if you have cruise control. I will not be replacing mine with a new one because I don't Want to pay the money haha Horn and Airbag won't work either. If anyone needs help I know how it all works now haha

 

Lots of cheap knock off spiral cables available on eBay.

 

sweet build! I'd skip the BAMF kit and go this route, you can definitely fit a 16" without having to go through the bed.

Those things are sweet! Your truck gets some flex man!! I welded up the bamf kits and they are too small for what I want. I might just weld some hoops in. Call it good.
