That could have been worse.. Lol it wasn't an issue until it hit the concrete, the bit grabbed, spun the jack around against my finger and then landed on the floor... It started on the bench. I'm surprised the bit didn't bend or break and it missed my toes

I got it now. Creative. I hadnt thought of keeping a jack under the hood. If you add a tab above the lift pad you could just give the jack a couple pumps and let hydraulic pressure hold it in place and keep it from rattling

 

I need to go get this thing inspected for next year and then soon it'll be time for some new exhaust that doesn't rattle on everything. Im gonna have the resonator removed and have them rework the exhaust over the axle so it doesn't rattle against the vibration dampener thingy

 

Well tried to get it inspected and the hole the dempener rubbed in the exhaust failed it. Went straight over to the exhaust shop and have an appt for tomorrow. In the mean time I figured I'd change the oil. Decided to go with Rotella T4(conventional). 200843 miles and have no clue when the last time it was done.

 

Well that would be why there was a drop from the oil drain plug. The previous owner, or oil monkey, didn't put a crush washer on it. It's a 14mm plug.


While under the hood I smelled coolant, checked all the new connections and they were dry, then I checked the radiator hoses which were further down the list to replace.. So now that that has moved up the list I'm ordering some silicone hoses and a new 180F thermostat.

Nah, I bought it as a project and I knew what kind of things needed to be done going into it. I just have to get caught up with life and everything so I can knock out more on the to-do list.

lol when I originally looked all they had was Blue, but now.... I think I will just stick to black though.

 

yeah....I did black on the Miata as well....

 

Back from the muffler shop and while the fitment if pieces could be far better, the new Borla muffler sounds good and the pipe doesn't leak. This isn't a high dollar job, granted I didn't pay for that either. Hacked out the old with a Sawzall, and migged in the new cobbled.

 

so did it pass?

 

Inspection is tomorrow. There is no other reason for it to fail.

Ah...there was a gym there ... been vacant for a long time. My Dad lives over off Walnut...I'll have another excuse to go see him...lol

Pretty sure it's new...I've been at that REI not all that long ago. Saw the construction going on but nothing obvious.

 

i work on Raleigh and Fayetteville stores forklifts, guess we’ll see what wonderious pile they’ve come up with for Cary store.... old and in need of a lot is pretty much a garuntee...
