As the title says, this contest is devoted to determining who can sleep in their truck the most while spending the least amount of money while doing it.

All that's required is a Tacoma, and sleep occurring inside the cab or bed - that's it.

Photos are not required, but are welcome. The cost of photography will not be included in the contest total, as photography is not integral to sleeping inside a Tacoma.

    I lose...

Though if you came up with a good enough prize I’d find a 6 ft bed off an old 1st Gen move it to my bedroom cut some foam to fit and start counting the years. Be like that race car bed I always wanted as a kid.

I've slept under my truck before, though it wasn't a Tacoma then.

    It's DLX son!
Is it total # of nights or do naps count toward a total count of hours?

Do we get (door)dinged for spending money on truck mods that are not related to glamping comfort (i.e. rear view mirror riser bracket, seat covers, wheels/tires, spark plugs, floor mats)? Or is it only #ExPo gear that we should be adding up?

    Some stuff here and there....
I do a hour a day sleeping in the cab cause night shift. (Lunch break) technically save money cause I'm not buying food to consume. When camping I now sleep in the cab and not in the rtt anymore.

Slept here a few nights this past summer in the black hills. $60 in wood and an hour to cut/install the platform (not counting the truck and topper).

Indeed, the total cost for sleeping in these cramped quarters is about $10,000 per night so far.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I'm somewhere around 14 hours over two nights in the front passenger seat. This is due to being kicked out of the tent by my daughter for snoring to loud and keeping her up. The third night I didn't even try and just set up the hammock.

If the cost of the truck and canopy didn't count, I'd be doing pretty well here! I've slept in the back of this truck four nights (~28 AHS). I didn't want to lose the headroom that a platform would sacrifice, so I just threw in some gym mats and foam pads. Sometimes I use my backpacking mattress, sometimes not. I did invest about $40 in LED lighting, and another $40 for the Action Packers and shelf you see here (I have since swapped these out with an older tool box). In fact, most of the junk I take camping, I've had for many years. So we'd need to depreciate those things to get a true figure.

I'd say the $40 LED lighting in the canopy is overkill luxury. What do you need light for? Your eyes are closed while sleeping!

A tarp with bungy cords and a few 1x2 verticals could replace the canopy, and be an upgrade from the fridge box. Or perhaps a mattress bag instead of the tarp.

I'm into my Tacoma maybe 11 grand including all vehicle mods, used camper shell and hand-me-down camping gear. I'm 6' tall and sleep partially curled on a thick foam pad, so I sleep as comfortable in my 6' truck bed as I do at home (short beds suck). I've had my current setup for 3 years and I go camping 3-5 times a year for 3-6 days. I sleep 7.5 hours a night with or without an alarm clock, and I always take a 1-2 hr. nap every full day away from home. The day I drive out and the day I drive back I don't usually have time for a nap.

    Averaged Total:

    4 trips X 3 years X 4.5 nights= 54 nights
    54 nights X 7.5 hours = 405 hours

Every trip has 2 days I don't usually nap:

    4 trips X 3 years X 2.5 days X 1.5 hours = 45 nap hours

405 full night of sleep hours + 15 nap hours = 450 hours of truck bed sleep.

Instagram's worst nightmare; hand-me-down foam pad and sleeping bag, the same pillow I use on my bed at home, Goodwill-sourced rubbermaid dry container, half-broken RTV-repaired 15 year old Mall-Wart cooler.

All I have is a '08 with 295,460 miles on it, and a bed rack I traded work for. But, I haven't even napped in it since the contest started.

You dipshit, a bag from a brand new mattress; any old mattress that gets bagged is probably because someone died on it. Do I have to teach you everything! Have you never been cheap or homeless?
