Just bought a new Taco! Well new to me....

    06 6spd TRD Off Road 4door 4x4. 231k miles with a leaking headgasket.

Picked it up for $3,000 today!

Who else has gotten killer deals?

I plan on doing it myself. Either finding another good deal on a motor or buying an engine rebuild kit. Ive seen them for about $800. Dont know if that is all costs included or just the beginning of a long road  Going to be doing follow up posts and videos on it

It was left to me when my grandfather passed away last year. Would much rather have him than the truck.

I paid $5K, DCLB Prerunner SR5, 128K miles, needed a water pump and tires. I bought it from.a good friend that knew exactly what he had and it's actual retail value, probably around double $5K.

paid $500 cdn for mine. 2005 DCLB sport SR5 with 170,000km
Had a spun bearing. They over filled it with oil
Replaced with a new (over hauled) engine with 72,000 km
Brand new frame, bed linered the whole truck and a bunch of other fun stuff.
In it for about $5-6k cdn right now

I just registered a black 06 6spd TRD 4door 4x4. 89000 km. For $11000 cdn. Needs a shifter knob and some paint correction. The same day I got it I found some wheels from a 2020 Tacoma for $1200 cdn on Kijiji.

Not sure if it's a good deal yet but I like it.

Sounds like everyone who got a “good deal” got a project.

I think I got a pretty good deal on mine. Bought it in April certified pre owned from a Toyota dealer. 2015 Access Cab, TRD off road, 4x4 V6, 6 speed manual, 26k miles.

I feel pretty good about my deal.

05 Access Cab long bed, 6MT 4x4, 1 owner, dealer serviced it's whole life, 76k miles, I paid $11.7k out the door. The price is not screaming but with the mileage taken into consideration, I think it's pretty good. The only thing it needed was a can of R134a

I think I did pretty well when I bought mine last year. August 2019.

2010 Double Cab 4x4, TRD OR. 148k miles and I paid $15.8k at a dealer. The truck had been in a hailstorm and they replaced the hood and windshield. I did several maintenance items and had new Bilstein 5100s installed, the shocks were shot. Toyota also replaced the leaf springs under the recall.

Not a big project truck like some of you guys, but lots of smaller things. I did a full transmission flush back in March and that made the biggest difference other than the new Bilsteins. New head unit before that. The factory one wouldn’t even eject the CCR CD from the previous owner!

I also got a 2006 with a “leaking” head gasket with 261k on it. Long story short PO was told by a Toyota dealership it was leaking, I bought it for $5k (it was a friend and a super clean, well maintained truck), I compression tested and did a leak down test on all he cylinders. Head gasket was just fine. In the end I was right and it’s been a great truck.

I’m a verify the fault kind of guy, I’d recommend you do the same. Your good deal could become a great deal.

I bought my 09 access cab TRD Offroad 4x4 brand new in 09 with all options available for 25 out the door. When I see what people are paying for used Tacomas I got a deal.
