I figured if I'm going to do a lift I might as well freshen up the balljoints, tierods and rack bushings. Where do I go for good prices? Want decent parts not the cheap junk. Is Moog still a reputable supplier? The dealer seems to be nearly twice the price of my local parts stores...

I, like many others here, only recommend using oem Toyota bj's. When i did my lowers on my 4runner i also ordered the new mounting bolts.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I agree, don't cheap out on balljoints, aftermarket ones always fail prematurely.

NAPA's precision line of chassis parts claim to be a quality beyond aftermarket. Their ball joint concepts are self lubricating. When their ball joints chip, or crack, or separate, the fragments get ground up from the ball joint and actually turn into a lube in itself. Not sure what the ball joints are made of, but that's what they claim.

I do not have personal experience with them but am shopping for new tie rods and have seen Moog recommended many times over. Seems like Amazon has the best prices too.

Try Rockauto.com. They were recommended by the folks here and they are pretty cheap. I will be going through them when I get the parts I need. Only trouble with their website is multiple options come up for parts so it's not clear cut if you're looking at what you need.

I got mine (MOOG) from this store on Ebay 3guysautoparts $121.00 2 uppers, 2 lowers, with new lower bolts shipped to my door. I've userd Moog for 40-50 years, never had to replace or had a problem with any of their parts & I keep my cars a long time (hand them down to other family members). I dont offroad, just daily driver.

Get OEM from Camelback Toyota. Look for them in the vendor section on this site.

After seeing so many Failures I went with Toyota .

Before Corporate taxes chased manufacturing out of the USA .

Now it seems most all auto parts are made in China Give them another 40 Years they might get it together.

I'd go with OEM Toyota parts. Check out toyotaonlineparts.com. They aren't very expensive there.

it totally does. I never knew what they used as their base metal that can do this. zinc? but thats what the company advertises, and it is nationwide. if they are lying. , that's one hell of a law suit they have to face. im sure it is true since i don't think they want to go to court over it.

here's a video describing their technology.

lol. they used footage from dust to glory im totally going to watch it again.... for the like, 200th time.... lol

I ended up getting some duralast ones from AutoZone. Lifetime warranty. They'll replace them for free when need be. Probly not the best brand and hoping I don't have a catastrophic failure. Ha. But I just keep an eye on them and take them back for free replacing when the boot starts to deteriorate.

All well and good lifetime warranty If they only paid for the labor.

For those not able to change their own failed parts for whatever reason.

NAPA premium, Rabestos pro, Moog and some other "premium grade" 1st gen LBJs are all the same re-branded aftermarket Sankei-555 (Japan).
Sankei-555 also makes Toyota OEM to Toyota specs. The Toyota OEM looks similar to the aftermarket but they are a completely different and better technology only available from Toyota.
There are only 2 actual manufacturers of 1st gen LBJs that I know of, Sankei-555 and Chinese no name bastard joints. OEM 555 will last longer than the aftermarket 555 but neither are going to fail catastrophically without ample warning when checked correctly.
