30k miles on my 2018 Tacoma and so far so good. I’m really enjoying this truck even coming from a 3/4 ton Ford. It’s extremely capable and does the job. My ford had major turbo issues at 100k miles. Decided to step away from the diesels for a while.

Thats certainly a lot, but my daily commute to main office is 120...I work 7 days a week usually. I bought mine new in Jan of '19 - I have 82K right now.

Yeah I do about 45K a year - and that's when I'm not doing much traveling (LOL). We live on a horse farm and while my main office is 60 miles away, it seems like EVERYTHING is 50-60 miles away. That is one of the bad things about living out in the country...but to me it is well worth it! My wife stays at home and she puts 30K plus on her main vehicle! I have no idea how many miles my horse has on him!!

I thought the 55 mile one way commute was pretty far and takes about an hour.

The other night there was a road construction accident that ended up making my one hour commute 2 hours and 45 minutes.

This isn't a 3rd gen, but at 1.2 Million miles deserves mentioning.

I’m curious to check back in with you. I also come from a line of 1/2 ton and 1 ton trucks. I constantly tow. I’ve been happy with my truck for the most part. I do I notice my valves starving for oil every once in a while with my engine and manual transmission which is why i made this thread.

You can literally hear chatter with these engines when they’re being worked. With a manual transmission, there’s a sweet spot when you have enough fuel to keep the engine RPMs from dripping and stalling, and not too much to spin the flywheel too fast to burn up your clutch. Well, it’s at this period when you can hear these engines chatter. The 4.0 even does it a little. It’s just the technology of using the 0w oil and the aluminum blocks. We’ll see how long mine will last. I use my truck for what it’s meant for!

He's probably talking about injector noise and confusing it with valves clicking

Ummm no. I’m taking about the engine oil pressure dropping to a level that makes this engine not a million mile engine. Not confused at all guys. That’s the whole reason I made this thread. I also just had seen a post of a guys 3.5 engine that blew up with 300 miles on it. You have lots of scenarios and configurations. I’m sorry but Toyota all mighty reliability is going down the tubes.
